Quiet location in good part of town. Nice big rooms, air con, fridge, clean, hot water provided for drinks on request, decent breakfast. Small garden at the front of the hotel. The staff seemed to have no real concept of customer service or desire to proactively help in anyway, they didn’t do anything wrong just didn’t provide any advice / maps / conversation etc. Hotel provided currency exchange at a rate that wasn’t to extortionate. Some of the rooms down stairs opened straight out into the reception area, some rooms upstairs had a balcony. The hotel is about 2-3km from the centre, but is well located for Shweddagon Paya, the must see in Yangon. You can walk there in about 20 minutes. Over priced like everything in Myanmar at present.

Room Tip: Avoid the ones rooms that open on to reception.

We stayed for 2 nights in December the hotel and room was OK but we weren't expecting luxury so we were well prepared.

The room had air con, hot water and mini bar. The wi fi was free and worked very well. Breakfast was bananas and choice of egg with toast or rice. The staff were lovely very friendly. Location wise is not bad and we mostly got taxi rides costing 2000 kyat to most locations. For food check out The Freindship inn about 5 min taxi 20 min walk away. We also went to the traders hotel during the midday heat and paid to use there pool and sun loungers so we could pretend we are on a luxury holiday!!

For $50 a night there is little to complain about in this hotel, especially given the recent accommodation price rises in Burma.

The room was clean and quite large, with a fairly comfortable bed. Shower was rather basic - just a nozzle spewing water all over the bathroom - but this is typical in mid range hotels. Our room windows looked out on to an internal corridor, but there was little noise during our stay.

Location is ok, opposite a park and a 10 minute/$3 cab ride to downtown. There's a City Mart 10 minutes' walk away. If you want to walk there at night, take a torch, as there are potholes and no streetlights.

Breakfast was the standard eggs, toast, banana, and Nescafé that we encountered throughout Burma.

This is a basic budget hotel, one of a few on Shin Saw Pu road. Our room was on the second floor (no lifts so if you have bad knees, ask for a ground floor room). Large, reasonably tidy, good air conditioning, functional beds (a bit firm), small fridge, large bathroom with a choice of a bath or shower. Two bottles of water is complimentary (not charged as stated on the list), and no coffee or tea (bring your own tea bags and ask for hot water). The hotel was putting up another floor or roof so there was a bit of noise but mercifully, it stopped by mid afternoon. The staff were friendly, understood English, and were, by and large, polite and responsive. Breakfast was fresh fruit and eggs and toast. Had a deja vu experience of Fawlty towers one morning at breakfast, when the waiter completely ignored us, and did not bother to even provide us the cutlery nor serve the coffee. We had to get this ourselves, and it was a bit of a surprise. Fortunately this was not repeated the next two mornings!
The hotel is a bit off the centre of Yangon, but a taxi ride between 2000-3000kyats will bring you to most points in the city. It is close to People's Park and a good 25-30 min walk from Shwedagon Paya. There is a well stocked supermarket just at the junction of Shin Saw Pu and Ptay road, opposite the gas station. Some nice restaurants (Swel restaurant opposite the Royal Asia Hospital, and a few in the neighbouring myay-ni-gone suburb) are all within a short walk from the hotel. The area is quiet, and safe to explore the back streets and really feel the local life.

Room Tip: Ask for room 301 if you want a room with a large balcony.

Large Clean rooms, same old hard beds you find every where else. Air con worked a treat. Lot of stairs to the third floor. Breakfast, usual, fruit - eggs - toast and juice. Friendly staff. We paid around $45 and this was a good deal. Took taxis everywhere $2-3 a trip. Quiet at night. A-OK

At first I was little dismay as the place even after some recent renovation not look that great.
BUT the welcoming staff and the easy going atmosphere changed it.
Location - an easy access road in quiet area. Nearby supermarket. trip to town 2.5~3K (3~4$).
Room - BIG and comfortable. Bed is good quality but chairs and table not.
Shower - little tricky on the hot water but ok.
Breakfast - VERY basic - egg toast, juice, fruit, tea. If only added some vegi....
Reception staff - AMAZING nice people!!!!! That what make the whole difference.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Windsor, which is good mid range hotel. The hotel is situated to the north of the downtown area, near the Shwedagon Pagoda. Although it is not in the heart of things, it is in a nice residential area and a taxi to downtown costs only about 3,000 kyats (approximately $2.50) The rooms are large and comfortable and there is electrictiy 24hours a day (not a given when staying in Burma). We found the hotel to be excellent value - we paid only $25 a night which includes the standard breakfast of eggs and toast. They also provided a fresh fruit bowl. The staff were all very helpful and polite, which makes such a difference. We chose this hotel because of its location near to people we were visiting, however there were several other Westerners there too so word is obviously spreading about this great little hotel!
