“Delicious, traditional Myanmar food”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

Great choice of different Burmese dishes here, prepared in what appears to be a traditional style. Some dishes can be quite oily, but they were all very tasty. Good value too!

“This is the real deal - not for tourists”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

Where the locals eat - cheap & tasty. Have one of the ladies seat you & bring your drink, then go to the buffet to pick out your dishes. You will probably be the only westerner in the restaurant, but they are still friendly & welcoming. The owner was schmoozing the tables in his Harley-davidson t-shirt. For a real Burmese meal, try this!

“Best local meal”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

Go to this restaurant with reasonable expectations and you will have a fabulous experience. It is plain and somewhat self-service--you go to the counter, look at the dishes, choose the ones you want, and then they are brought to your table. The staff are very helpful and can tell you in English about the dishes. If you want food piping hot and freshly cooked to order, this is not the place for you. But if you want delicious local food, go!

Other reviewers here have commented on the amount of oil in some dishes. That is not uncommon for Burmese food, so choose dishes that have little oil. I had several vegetable dishes with no oil and they were delicious. My son had goat and enjoyed it so much he asked if he could lick the bowl. (Answer: no.)

I loved this restaurant. It was the best meal we had during our week in Myanmar.

“Real Myanmar food, real good”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

We ate here during our first night in Myanmar and were not disappointed. This is a small restaurant, a little outside of down town but worth the short taxi ride. The food was quite good and served up in an authentic setting that was not overrun by foreigners.

“No service, good food”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

Burmese food is in general not as fancy or spicy as Thai food sp eating real burmese food is not too memorable but this little restaurant will give you a good impression of the local kitchen. Just a short walk form the Schwedagon (but be careful especially at night, the roads are terrible) here you will see mostly local people eating.

The ambience is nonexisting, plastic chairs and tables, the cutlery is basic as well. You walk in, take a seat and then go to the buffet where you choose what you want simply by pointing a finger. It will then be brought to your table together with rice and some vegetables and sauce.

The food is typical burmese, meaning very fat, long time cooked but prepared from fresh ingredients daily. The price is as cheap as it can get, Food for 3 people can be had for 3 € (total sum for the party). If you order a beer, be aware, it comes in bottles with the size of 0.65 litres.

You will walk out there, well fed for very small money.
