Location is superb, just next to the lake and close to the big golden tower.Better prepare an adaptor with you as I've been waiting for an adaptor for more than 2 days and eventually got a funny one which did not work. Try to go to the breakfast as early as possible as later the ambiance will be like a street market. Swimming pool is beautiful and well located. If you do not care about tranqility, then stay here.

Dear solo66

We thank you for writing us a review on Trip Advisor. When our hotel is running high occupancy, two restaurants are opened during breakfast hours. We are also planning to expand our existing restaurants in the near future, to meet ongoing additional capacity demands. We hope to welcome you again in the new future.

Best Regards
Saman Sarathchandra (Mr)

We have stayed and eaten at Sedona many times. They have reasonably priced, clean, standard hotel rooms, a beautiful pool, excellent fitness room and spa, fabulous baked goods at their bakery, great Italian restaurant, and wonderful breakfast buffet.
Service is excellent. In Yangon many of the better restaurants are in hotels and the Sedona restaurants have good food at a midrange price for the high end restaurants.
It's lovely to join locals for a stroll along Inya Lake early morning and late evenings, a good noodle meal or a fun ride at the amusement park just across the main road .
It's nice to be out of the center of the city, yet on a main road with quick acess into and out of the city. There is a shopping mall a few blocks away.

Room Tip: Choose a lakeside room on a higher floor for beautiful views

After 2 weeks in northern Myanmar, the Sedona was a welcomed Oasis. The Sedona has a wonderful pool and tennis courts. There many restaurants in the hotel. All are reasonably good. But pricey too. A night club is located in the basement that attracts the lovely crowd. The rooms on the end are large with a sitting area. A TV in the sleep area and in the sitting area. Wi-fi in the room. Internet not fast and many sites are blocked (I recommend Vidalia download). But Myanmar is changing, hopefully for the good. Traders is also a good hotel. I stayed in Park Royal during cyclone Nargis and it held up well. Sedona and Traders are my preferred hotels in Yangon.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the pool and on the end.

This was an ok hotel - not great just a bit ordinary. However, when we woke up after a very late check in, we found we had the most beautiful view of the lake. The hotel is also closer to the airport so for early departure it is ideal. Rooms are tired, a bit too Western style for me but good value. Breakfast was very good.

Room Tip: Lake view room on high level

This is a pretty decent hotel in Yangon. The room I had was pretty modern and very clean. The hotel itself is Western and service is generally pretty good. The swimming pool is enormous and very comfortable, except for the 10pm closing time (which was a bit annoying when I arrived in Myanmar late one evening at the beginning of my trip).

Only complaint is that this hotel is a bit removed from stuff in Yangon, so isn't terribly conveniently located. Other than that, it's a pretty good spot that's not terribly overpriced.

I had the opportunity to stayed at Sedona (Yangon) for a couple of time during my visit between 2010 and 2011. I must say that I did not experience any discomfort during my stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious with many varieties. The pool was amazing. The services were pretty much the same as any other hotels. The room is spacious and clean. The location is pretty close to the city itself so I could just go out and get to the place I wanted with short period of time. The view is spectacular if its facing the lake. Overall experiences was full satisfactory.

Finding an available room in Yangon is difficult now, with booms in tourism and business fueled by the recent political reforms. So, given the alternatives, staying heremay not be a worst-case scenario. It is a Western hotel--clean with decent food (breakfast buffet was plentiful; the Chinese and Italian restaurants in the hotel are quite good).

That said, there are a lot of flaws that need to be fixed before this place can be considered a four or five star hotel. The internet connection is fragile, often breaking down in the best of circumstances, and totally inaccessible from some rooms. My room's air conditioner just could not kick in with any power; the temperature never got much below 78 degrees in the five nights that I stayed here, despite several service calls from hotel technicians. The electrical system in the rooms is completely outmoded; you will need to unplug lamps in order to charge your computer or anything else.

The fitness center is a little antiquated; the stationary bikes are about 30 years olld. The four treadmillls are okay, but there are not enough to accomodate all of the customers, so there are queues during certain times of the day. There are no elipticals. Like many Asian fitness centers, the temperature is kept pretty warm--probably around 80 degrees.

The reception/cashier desks are understaffed, so there can be waits of several minutes or longer to check in, check out, or get anyone's attention.

One nice thing is that the hotel is quite close to the airport--only about 15 minutes when traffic is light.

So, as said earlier, staying here is not a terrible experience-but certainly not up to the standards of other mid-level Western branded hotels in Asian cities (like Hyatt, Hilton, Intercontinental).

Room Tip: If you can, ask for rooms where wi-fi is available and where air conditioning is functioning fully.
