I decided i deserved a bit of luxury after a 10 days meditation retreat and i was not disappointed. The bar was great with an in house pianist playing interesting songs. Good coffee, good sandwiches and mezze too. My room was great. Very confortable bed, bathtub and necessary for making a tea or a coffee. Wifi is one of the best of Yangon. Receptionists were very gentle and helpful. I would love to come again.

A bit pricey but it is Shangrila so the service and amenities are top class. It's value for money if you are willing to pay the price. The breakfast is splendid, the fitness center is very nice and modern. Happy hour at the bar from 530-830pm. Several restaurants in the hotel to choose from. Ultra comfortable and such a welcome from the heat of Yangon.

Decent hotel but highly overpriced. Service is really good and people are extremely friendly. However property is slightly old and needs to be upgraded. The restaurant is also nice and the bar is really nice too, I hope that the property will be upgraded or atleast the price to be reduced to provide more value for money

I stayed with my husband for almost ten days but it was an amazing experience. The staff is just outstanding. Everyone is so nice, kind and professional. The room is very clean, neat, internet is great. The buffet has a big variety of food and it 's good.

Been at this hotel for several nights and the service is great. The breakfast is spot on and the staff cannot do enough for you. Pay the extra and upgrade club suite is good and the Limousine is not bad values and great service at the end of a long day or flight. A good base to work from

Room Tip: pay the extra and upgrade

We stayed here for one night before we headed out to Bagan. We had arranged a hotel pickup from the airport which was excellent. Our checkin was completed en-route and we were immediately escorted to our room upon arrival. I had arranged for internal flights to be booked by the hotel staff and this was all done extremely efficiently and bought immediately to our room.
The room was spacious and they bought extra linens for my children.
The staff were very helpful as I had quite a few questions about travelling throughout Myanmar. They provided maps, information and much needed umbrella's. The breakfast was as you would expect in an international standard hotel, although I was encouraged by staff to try the traditional Burmese tea, which was lovingly prepared and enthusiastically refilled. The location is great - the downtown area is right on your doorstep with the Sule Pagoda only a couple of minutes walk.

I stayed here for 3 nights and all in all a good experience; good service, comfortable room, good internet, decent TV selection. My only complaint was that breakfast wasnt included as I am a Golden Circle member staying at different Shangri-Las for a minimum of a month per year. Anyway, few other choices for the time being, but for future trips will be looking at the new Hyatt (Hilton?) that is being built.
