“Good international hotel”
Reviewed 18 August 2011

This is a five star hotel with good service and an abundance of staff. Try to book a room with a view of t he Shwedagon Pagoda. It is spectacular at night. Be sure to visit it early in the day before the sun heats up the paving. I recommend that you book and pay for your room with a reservation service because using credit cards can be difficult in Myanmar. Because credit cards are actually processed outside the country I couldn't use my card on a Saturday night or Sunday . The processing office was closed for the weekend. Breakfast was interesting with eggs, pancakes, sushi and cake. Hotel restaurants are good but expensive (for Myanmar). There are Thai and Chinese reastaurants in the park a short walk away. In the afternoon, try the tea and cakes in the lobby . The staff will even tell you what time they discount the cakes. (I think it was 4 PM).

This is a 5 star hotel with 5 star facilities and 5 star services but at 3/4 star prices. The lobby is the most impressive part of the hotel, what with beautiful receptionist to greet you with welcome drinks, helpful PR personnel to assist you thru your registration process amidst live piano and local music. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. The breakfast starts at 5.30am, which means you don't have to skip your breakfast for any early morning outing. The location is the best factor for choosing this hotel. It is situated just across the road from the Royal Lake of Yangon and within walking distance from the Shwedagon Pagoda, the 2 most popular tourist attractions of Yangon. We will definitely choose this hotel again if in Yangon.

Room Tip: Always ask for the lakeview rooms.

I stayed for 4 nights in the Hotel. It was a wonderful experience. The staffs are all friendly
and helpful, their understanding of English is acceptable. The room is big and clean, housekeeping is good. There is wi-fi in the room for only $10 US per day . Really appreciate my Myanmar friend for booking this Hotel for me. Will surely be back in this Hotel if i visit Yangon again.

Stayed one night at this hotel on my stay in Myanmar.

If you`re going to Myanmar im sure you have done your homework in different forums on what to expect of your stay.

This hotel was really nice with a smooth swimmingpool and stunning views of the Shwedagon pagoda. (make sure you get the rooms with the view).

The breakfast was nice and alot to choose from. Very friendly staff.

You could change $ to Kyats in the souvenir shop at the hotel, wich is recommended. You get the best rates in Yangoon if you`re on a round trip. We changed 850 Kyats to $1.

You`ll need a taxi if you`re going downtown but within walking distance to the Shwedagon pagoda.

Warning: Be aware of ridiculous pricetag on food and drinks.
