“Very average but decent facilities.”

Although the rooms are a little dated it is a comfortable hotel with good restaurants and a good gym. The pool is ok but it was murky when I was there, still I don't believe it was dirty. The rooms are desperately in need of renovation which is due to be carried out soon. Whether they will meet the standard of the room price remains to be seen.
The location is quite good as you are near the markets and what limited nightlife that is on offer.
Also be aware that the hotel charges 20 dollars if you bring a guest back. Excessive in my opinion.

I stayed in the Parkroyal hotel in Yangon last month; the hotel was busy with Buisness people and western as well as Korean andChinese tourists; although busy, the hotel team kept the rooms in good condition and the hotel conveys good value for the money.

I was in Yangon and staying in Park ROyal when cyclone Nargis it in 2008. the hotel held up and we emerged safe through the storm. Power was out in Yangon. The hotel ran generators to give us lights and TV. No air-con. But hey, we were in a powerful cyclone and lived. Hundreds of thousands of people did not. The hotel staff displayed Grace Under Pressure. They did their best to make sure we were cared for. They had enough food that we never really suffered. So, I often stay at Park Royal when I need to be in the city center. Sedona, Traders, Park Royal are my pics for Yangon.

Stayed here in January 2 nights on a tour with Santa Maria.
It is an older standard 3 star type but just fine. Rooms a little plain and dated but OK.
VG service and friendly front desk staff.
Location good, 20 minutes from airport and central, good supermarket next door if you want to get food, beer, wine etc. Left too early for breakfast but they supplied a nice packed one.

The location is excellent - and the breakfast is STELLAR. We were thrilled with such a lush breakfast! And it was everything - from Burmese - to Japanese - to Chinese - to French. The rooms were fine. Big enough. Clean. The lobby is over the top - and rather impersonal. The service was very friendly. The bar was not well stocked, and the atmosphere in the bar was rather sterile. The number one drawback was that there was music blasting through the "Muzak" system in the corridors from about 6 am until about 10 pm. We asked if they could turn it off, but they seemed unable to do so. So much for sleeping in late after a long flight....

Stayed here for 3 nights in February 2012 and the room is okay. The breakfast was really nice in my opinion as they offered a wide selection of food from various nations including China, Thailand, Myanmar and continental. We were offered "free" tickets for the nightclub in the basement, but after a single beer we left. This was nothing more than a place to pick up women for a price. Fun to watch the "negotiations" taking place.
Location is great and for the price I certainly believe it's good value... although you can probably find better, and worse... it really is so in the middle this hotel...

Room Tip: High floor for good views!!

This highrise Western-style hotel is very well located and is a fine choice in Yangon. First the good: huge and good breakfast, large rooms and very pleasant staff. We were able to delay our checkout by 2 hours and enjoyed hanging out in the lobby until we took a taxi to the airport. The manager greeted us before departure and hoped we would com back soon.
The less good: the hotel was unable to change USD to kyat, but recommended a jewelry store in the hotel. Said store was closed for a two week period: shouldn't the reception have known this, considering the shop was about 100 feet away? Upon advising the concierge, we were directed to a money exchange place about a 10 minute walk away. This was also closed for the same 2 week period! This was a country-wide holiday and staff surely should know this.
The lobby reeks from an air freshener that reminds me of many taxis in New York City - I realize this is a personal preference, but less would be more in my humble opinion.
