Stayed 3 nights here while in Yangon for a conference. The hotel is all decorated for Christmas and lighted up at night. A modern hotel that is no different from any other hotels of similar class in Asia. Due to the fact that a bomb went off a while ago in the nearby Traders Hotel, bags are checked and everyone is scanned upon entering the hotel

The rooms are modern. They have wooden floor and there is a big carpet over the bed area. A simple and elegant room. Do not expect 5 star room because of the high price you pay. It is a 4 star hotel. The high price is due to the limited supply of international standard hotel in Yangon following the opening up of Myanmar. Price is a supply and demand determined thing here. If you compare the room to 4 star hotel rooms in another country, then it is no different from others. In fact, I think it is better then some other 4 star hotels in US or Europe. If because of the high price you pay, you expect a 5 star room, then you will be disappointed. The bathroom is showing signs of age, but it is nonetheless kept very clean. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room.

The breakfast buffet is served at the Chinese restaurant. The spread is very good. There is the usual international standard fare, local, Indian etc.

The spa is a little disappointing It is not par with Spa in Thailand or even Vietnam. The standard and quality of individual masseuse can be very different too. Like all other things catering to tourist in Yangon, it does not come cheap.

I have visited other hotels like Strand and Governor's Residence for meals and drinks during the trip. The Strand was disappointing. It had mosquitos hovering around at the bar. Governor's Residence is beautiful and gives a resort feel, but it is also a little out of the way. If I visit Yangon again, I will still choose to stay at Parkroyal. Somehow the clean modern look here appeal to me better in this city. I don't come to Yangon for a resort type vacation.

We stayed here for 1 night in Yangon. The staff was friendly and helpful and check-in was quite smooth. We had a room on the 8th floor which included club lounge access with cocktails and canapes in the evening. The room was not bad but could be better and needs a refresh. Also the air conditioning was not working properly as the room stayed quite hot. As we left very early in the morning we requested our breakfast to be packed and they gave a lot in quantity but it was not that good in quality and had a lot of unhealfthy food. Wifi worked fine and was easy to use. The location of the hotel is also central and near to a lot of attractions.
I felt that the hotel is overpriced for what it offers but due to the lack of other alternatives there are not that many 5 star hotels in town. However as soon as this changes this hotel needs to really up its game if they want to stay competitive.

This hotel rates itself as 5 star and is nearly that good. They are renovating and that might tip the balance. The rooms are comfortable although the airconditioning is difficult to control. On our second visit the mini bar was empty. However, the restaurants are excellent and the breakfast is world class. Free wifi was a surprise, and it worked well. Security was tight at the entrance but I have no problems with that. The lobby staff were extremely helpful.
We had a guide and driver to take us to the attractions in Yangon. It was a bit hot to do it on foot although I think we could have hired bicycles. Motorbikes are banned from Yangon, making the traffic less scary than in Hanoi or Ho Chi Min city.

Room Tip: Both the rooms we had were quiet and comfortable. On level 3 you have easy access to the pool.

Located in the business district this is a typical business persons hotel. Staff are helpful and efficient. The rooms are well equipped and the beds reasonable. There is a cafe and ice cream bar in the lobby plus three other restaurants. There are two for one drinks in the down stairs bar during happy hour. The breakfast buffet was probably the largest we have seen in our travels with western, Indian, Japanese, Chinese and Myanmar specialties plus the usual fruits, cereal, juices, waffles, pancakes, bread and pastries. Unfortunately as we had an early pickup we were unable to do it justice.

Its a decent hotel and anywhere else in the world you'd probably say it was even better, however (as you will find out when you come to Myanmar) hotels are pricey here and there isnt much value for your money.
The beds are big and comfortable, the breakfast buffet is great and the hotel itself is very decent. The bathrooms are a little under the weather and the rooms although nice just arent what youd get for this type of money elsewhere.
All in all its a good hotel and a comfortable place to stay.

While smoking is strictly limited to the bar to not disturb other guests, as a regular cigar smoker I love this place. Since recently the offer a great choice of cigars incl. Davidoff and even boutique brand Patoro! The bar is most comfortable, and the whole hotel is true value for money. Not a grande dame, more like a business hotel, modern style. But good food and service, ,ich better than nearby Trader's.

This hotel is fine. Nothing exceptional, nothing terrible.

Staff is friendly and helpful and took care of my broken key/request for more water VERY promptly.

Rooms are clean. My bed/sheets were awesomely comfortable and unlike other reviewers, I had no problems with wi-fi at all. The bathroom was OK with me--but not 4-star. It needed a little regrouting/upkeep.

I thought breakfast was great/lots of choices and everything fresh-a bit hectic for the number of people there but I understand that the restaurant normally used for breakfast was under renovation.

Spent some time in the bar and service was lovely--they had a cheesy lounge singer on the weekend like most hotels of this kind do.

So overall, a good, generic choice. Not familiar with the prices elsewhere in Yangon--there may be a shortage of rooms that allows Park Royal to charge the relatively high rates it does. But I would certainly expect more for 200+ dollars a night elsewhere in the world.
