you will regret fully if you try to reach on foot. and when you reach, it will probably take you less than 20 minutes to complete a round and decide to leave, unless you are a history buff or somehow just find something you like there...

This is a small museum with lots of family photos. It contains the beds and cloths of Aung San and early family photos. If I have the right building it is where Aung San lived from 1945 to 1947 and where his second son died in 1953 after drowning in the pond in the garden.

This is used to be Gen. Aung San's home and now it's Gen. Aung San museum to show their lifestyle. It was closed till 2012 and reopened as museum after democracy. It is a nice western style 2 storied house. Some photos are hanged to the wall and you'll learn the history from them... For example, Gen. Aung San wearing uniform of Japanese military ( he went to Japan to learn military operation), and Gen. Aung San's wife wearing Shan tribe's costume.
Photography is not allowed inside and you have to store it to locker.
Opening hour is 10 to 16 from Wed. to Saturday. Entrance fee is 300Kyat.
You can walk from Shwedagon Paya, though the route is not that easy or clear.

Lacking in content and information, but worth going for the historical significance of the place. Bit of a way out.

I suggest to go to this place.
Not for package tourist and reopened to the public since a little time.
The house were the General Aung san used to live with his family.
You will understand a lot of the history of the country, and what the general, father of Aung san Su Kyi, did for it.
The place in itself is very interesting. The building, the area...
