“Does not come Cheap, but good value for money”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

This hotel does not come cheap- I paid $ 120US per night, but it´sa good value for Yangon. It does not have a lobby and the reception is on the 3rd floor, but he hotel staff will carry your luggages and show you the way once you are at the doorsteps. Like what most travelers have mentioned, this hotel is located directly behind Traders hotel in a really dirty road. From the from airport you have to pay 8000kyats for a taxi , and all driver I met knew how to get there.
There is construction work beside the hotel, so it´s loud and noisy all day long. But a lot of Yangon´s streets are dirty and full of pitholes anyway.
The rooms are very clean, new, spacious and comfortable with AC.The bed sheets are clean and the mattress firm - I liked it.The bathroom does not have a shower curtain so the bath floor does get wet. There was also a safe in our room. The wifi signal is ok- sometimes strong, mostly soso- worked best near the reception area. ( If you need really good and strong wifi- join the traiders hotel for a coffee, you will be delighted).
The AC worked really well. The reception staff are friendly and more than willing to assist and speak decent English. Taxis are abundant along the street corners and the bell ops will get you a taxi anytime of the day.
The breakfast buffet is soso (with us$10 - for simplicity 10000 kyats quite expensive), a latte. 3000kyats.The hotel provides two bottles of mineral water daily and there are coffee/ tea facilities in the room.
The oh so famous Scott's market is right around the corner (walking distance). airport.Over all a good Choice for Yangon.

One thing I didn´t liked: during my second stay I had to stay at their sister (and neighbor) hotel Clover City Center even so I made a reservation for the Clover City Center Plus a month ago ( they told me they were overbooked), where the room was similar, but the staff members a not that helpful, didn´t spoke a decent English and the breakfast was horrible- they just present you a plate full of baked beans, fruits, sweet bread and eggs -all mashed together, smelled and looked very unpleasent.

There was nothing really wrong about this hotel... just the price. Everything was clean, and in working order - A/C, wi-fi, etc. The staff performance was excellent.

But none of that changes the fact that it's a 2-star hotel at a 5-star price. I understand that's the way it goes in Burma, but still... I will say the location is good. You're right across the street from Bogyoke market. You can walk down to Sule Pagoda and the park. It's a 10-minute taxi ride to Shwedagon.

The first impression is of a clean, newly constructed, simple, but modern room. But look again: there is one (comfortable) little stool by the desk. There is room for a chair but no chair. Ditto for a luggage stand; use the bed. No closet, just hangers. Bathroom has a sign telling you NOT to flush toilet paper! Apparently you should put it in the trash basket. The bathroom doubles as your shower. The electrical outlet is not near any mirror; I dried my hair by looking into the TV screen. Breakfast is adequate in a minimal way. Overall, the room design looks like it was prepared by a first year student at hotel school--simply incompetent. In summary this is a very clean, newly constructed backpackers hotel, nothing more.

Room Tip: Try to get a high floor with a view in the rear.

Yes, the road is ugly. Yes, it's not worth the price. But remember, this is Yangon. There are barely any hotels out there. So taking that into account, I think it was a pretty decent stay. I also happened to stay at another, pricier hotel in the area for the second part of my trip, and believe me, I missed the Clover City Center. It's clean, it has an internet connection (as fast as it gets in Yangon), and the staff are friendly. They all spoke very good English when I was there. So once again, considering this is Yangon, I think this is a very decent option.

This was our first stop on a 3 week tour of Myanmar. The Clover Hotel is centrally located, and is a clean, modern hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the helpful staff who helped us arrange most of our travel for the remainder of our holiday, booking buses and internal flights

When we arrived the street the hotel is on is narrow and chaotic so we were not sure what to expect. The clover has three hotels we stayed in the plus which the last one on the road. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room is very modern and clean,a bit on the small side but everything very nice. The breakfast as other reviewers have said is not a great choice and tea undrinkable so take coffee, but it's adequate a good base for seeing sights.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in November. Actually one night was spent at the 'Plus' location and another at the original. However, they are both on the same block in town and were of very similar quality. There's nothing fancy about them but they are clean and comfortable. The water was hot in the shower and the beds were comfortable. We had early morning departures both mornings so I can't speak to the breakfast, but I do know it was included, as was free wifi. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to Shwedigon, but close to restaurants and sites in the downtown area. Overall, I would recommend this place to someone looking for a clean, convenient place who is not after anything fancy.
