Modern hotel. All newly refurbished clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Good wifi connection. Adequate breakfast. Excellent location on the hill by the river overlooking Tblisi. Within minutes of walking to restaurants and other attractions, such baths and the old castle. English speaking, friendly staff.

By now I have stayed at GTM Kapan about 6 weeks over 3 years, and overall the hotel really starts showing more age. The location on the Old Methekhi rise is fine, although for some the noise of cars on the cobblestones might be a bit too much. The rooms are fine, although a bit small - better get a suite. The bathrooms and wardrobes in particular show their age and cheap built. The doors of the showers in all 3 rooms we stayed this time were worn out and wobbly. Many light fixtures don't work, or have no working bulbs. The service is ok, laundry is very fast and well done. Wifi has improved however, and is relatively fast. The front desk is friendly enough, although not always helpful. This time a bag we left in storage got soaked by water from the ceiling (the roof has its issues), and, well this was seen simply as bad luck. The breakfast is ok, albeit rather tiring after a few days. Coffee is from an automated dispenser and could be better, and there is not always good bread when you are a little late. Most rooms have some noise issues - either the hallways are pretty loud, or other guests are on the veranda or in the street. The hotel is popular with Russian, Ukrainian and Israeli groups, who often need a reminder that they are not the only guests. Maybe time for a change in hotel for the next trip to Tbilisi.

Room tip: Get one of the suites.

The setting of the hotel overlooking the scenic riverbank and surrounding mountains is a plus but unfortunately it is someway out of town. There is currently no restaurant in the hotel and little choice for amenities nearby. They do have further development plans including a terraced bar and restaurant. A very disappointing breakfast the first day but I'm assured by the manager things will be different tomorrow. I certainly hope so! Day 2 breakfast excellent and the assistance provided by all the staff and management has been superb. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was chosen by my travel agency in Tbilissi (IRC) and it was a good choice. Nice rooms with or without terrace. Very close to the old city and Metehki church. In a walking distance you visit many churches and there many good restaurants nearby.

Room tip: The roomsup-stairs have a very nice view on the illuminated hill with the Trinity Cathedral.

This hotel is an easy walk to most of Tbilisi. Just down the hill to the bridge and into the old city.
Close to restaurants, clubs and pubs as well as souvenir shops.
The hotel has comfortable rooms with central heating and air conditioning.
The beds are comfortable but the pillows are on the extreme side of soft.
The bathroom is well equipped
with European toilets and good showers.
Wifi is excellent in rooms 201-207 as the router is directly outside. The other rooms (including the dining room) have very little signal. So the best spot is to relax in the foyer and check the Internet.
There is a water fountain in the foyer.
This rooms do have a pretty well stocked mini bar as well if you feel too lazy to got out.
The dining room offers a hearty breakfast of local fare and good coffee (for a machine brew, but important first thing in the morning - happy wife, happy life).
