“Nice stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014 via mobile

The room was exceptionally good for my price: high ceiling, big mirrors, sofa, kitchenette, small washing machine. It had a style. Small bathroom though and the bed was big for a single like me, but could be small for a couple. Every room on my floor had its only Wi-Fi hotspot with decent speed.
The personnel was friendly.
The location of the hotel is good with plenty of cafes etc. around. In particular, getting breakfast is not a problem at all. For most tourists sites you have to take the subway. The bar and spa area was under renovation. It's not part of my rating.

In total, I can absolutely recommend this hotel.

Service and price were quite good at the ArtNouveau. My only gripe about the hotel is the location. It's far from the happening area of Gangnum and at least an eight-10 minute walk to the closest metro stops. Taking the metro to all other districts takes a long time and multiple line changes. Lastly, the room was very hot and a/c worked sporadically. Stay here if you need to be in the CBD.

Amazing hotels, restaurant within, service, perfect food and variety, pleasant and helpful staff. Very central location makes for convenient stay. Thank you Art Nouveau. Beautiful design and room amenities as well. A true vacation.

I stayed here for one night for the opening of the club in the basement. Check in was a little difficult. I actually had to get behind the counter and find the reservation in the computer myself. For some reason, the staff was under the impression that I had made a mistake. After smoothing everything out, I went up to the room which was surprisingly pleasant. For the cost, the atmosphere and location can't be beat. The bed was OK, but Club A in the basement more than makes up for anything else that may have distracted me. Centrally located with nice looking rooms for great prices...

General:
This place is a residence with a small kitchen with basic utensils and a small washer/dryer. Because of this, some rooms may have lingering food odor from previous guest. Lot of restaurants and cafes behind the hotel to choose from and 5 min walk to either Yeoksam or Seolleung subway station. Free parking is available if you have rented a car. There is a direct airport(ICN) shuttle across the street in front of Renaissance Hotel otherwise it's about 60 mins to 90 mins drive to/from the airport(ICN) depending on traffic.

Details:
The room has a nice ambiance with high ceiling and lots of closet space. There is also a loft suitable for sleeping tatami style(on the floor). The room we stayed in had two windows that could be opened for ventilation without automatically turning off the A/C.

The kitchen area had 2 burner stove, electric rice cooker, small pot, frying pan, kettle, dishes and utensil for 2 people. No coffee brewer so get some instant coffee if you need immediate caffeine hit in the morning like me. Dish washing liquid and a sponge is provided but no rags or paper towels.

The bathroom is...well, small. Nice and clean with bidet but small. This wouldn't be a deal breaker but had me longing for other hotels roomy bathrooms.

The washer/dryer is a small capacity unit suitable for underwears or light outer garments. I would have to say drying capacity is maybe 1/4 of the washing capacity. In other words it doesn't dry well. No detergent or dryer sheets are provided.

Transportation is pretty convenient. Subway stations are nearby for Line 2 and Bundang Line. You can always flag down a taxi in front of the hotel or get into a private taxis always waiting in front of Renaissance Hotel across the street. If you drive navigation is a must for foreign travellers otherwise you'll waste lot of expensive gas($7.50/gal) driving in wrong direction.

i stayed in the hotel from september 8 to september 12 , the hotel is wonderful, the staffs are always helpful, the experience was awesome. the hotel has all the amenities that a family needs..like small kitchen, washing machine, iron, refrigerator and lot more. free wifi helps you to be connected to the family by skype. the hotel is in close proximity to subway...which is a great relief. the limousine for the airport is walking distance away, thought the sky lounge was not functioning when we stayed..but actually we did not miss its presence. the overall experience was nice..a very good stay in affordable price.

Room Tip: best place for the travellers with family especially kids and those who like to cook own food ....

While I have to agree that the staff are very helpful and the maid replaced my pillow cases when I complained about the stains on them, I can't say this hotel is pleasant. The room is "dark" as someone else said, the shower is very tight ( I could barely get in since it's the size of a foot locker. The toilet and sink is placed in a very tiny space so I was hitting my legs against the wall or the door which swung inward toward the seat.

I just didn't feel I was entering a clean and well cared for place. The sofa was depressed and tatered, a weird looking loft (very shallow) was above the doorway with a steep stairway leading to it. There was a oldish ktichenette and ample cabinets for stowing away clothes for long term residence. Television remote was all in Korean and the air conditioner stunk up the room with a musty, smoky smell while keeping it cool from the humid Seoul heat. It desperately needed filter replacement. The air conditioner remote is all in Korean so difficult to operate. The air vent was weirdly placed right above the ceiling light were it blew any dust right into the room.

They were kind to supply a nicer branded water in the refrigerator everyday. Don't take the slow No: 6000 bus to the hotel from any of the airports. It was so slow and always late to any destination we attempted.

Overall, the staff were memorably good.
