“Seoul's best kept secret!”
Reviewed 8 December 2012

Inwangsan is truly a treasure in Seoul! The hike itself is relatively easy at a little over 300 meters and the sites are truly rewarding. One of the few places with authentic Korean shaman spirituality! While hiking I could hear chanting and some unique Buddhist temples. Worth a visit!

“Invigorating hike up the city walls”
Reviewed 1 November 2011

I wanted to climb Mt Inwang because it is featured in many historical Korean ink paintings as a major landmark and sacred mountain of the city. We went on a weekend, which was the right thing to do. Tons of other walkers on the mountain, which meant it was impossible to get lost. It took less than 2 hours to hike up to the top and back down--we went from Changuimin Gate to Sajik Park and it made for a wonderful, view-filled trek.

Lots of stairs, sometimes with quite tall or uneven rises, and some small areas where you are using the indentations in the rock to get up or down a short passage. Plenty of places to rest.

When we went part of the mountain was closed for renovation, but the detours were well marked. The path is overseen by military personnel, as it is close to the President's house.

Amazing views over Seoul. Easy access via metro from the Sajik Park side.
