I went through this multi-storey mall on my way to Megabox at Dongdaemun. They sell lots of clothes and bags. The bags are mostly fake designer bags. I did not go there for shopping.
In korea is well known that they are mainly petite asian sizes.. However, they do cater to the everyday woman kind of size as well... However, being plus size has its own challenges, However, what started just as a " lets just check this out" turned out to be amazing as we went end of spring, therefore they had many racks of Markdowns or Sale items for last season clothing ... Being from a humid asian country we dont really used much winter-ish clothing.. but I has in heaven when i keep finding good knitted sweaters for like 10k Won(10,000) a few that i happen to see even goes down to 6kWon .. lolz, the awesome part is that is the baggy style fashion. I literally went around the hole floor surveyed the racks and went back to purchase them and left with more than 10 light knitted sweaters that is perfect for a spring/autumn weather .
Oh yeah they do have at least 6stores that sell plus size clothings.. the style may not be to my liking but there were a few that had trendy , dresses and tops.. =)
PS: My 2cent tips...=) ...Dont buy the first thing u like.. make sure to walk around as the style are repeated and some stores give better pricing/deals/service . Once you know what you like go back and get them ..
I am always on the hunt for things I can wear. (Duh, isn't everyone?) If you are above a size 12 in Korea, you are aware that finding larger items isn't easy.
Still, I scour the malls and dip into boutiques, steeling myself for the inevitable "no 'pig' sizuh" comments, or the women grabbing their boobs and shaking their heads no. What EVERRRR!
This time, I got a payoff! Ding, ding, ding! If you enter through Gate 1, turn right and go all the way down, then turn left again, you should find it on the left, just before you get to the end. At the time of this writing, she has a sign that says "Big Size" (I am submitting a picture).
I wear a size 10 or 12 in bottoms, and the size 100 skirts I tried on fit me perfectly. In tops, I am about a 14 or L, sometimes XL; she had some but I didn't try them on. Her clothing is fashionable and in line with what I would wear back home. Prices were higher than those of other stalls. She bragged on the fact that the clothing was Korean, not made in China. The lady who helped me was not a small girl, so she definitely understood.
I also saw a booth farther down that same row (where it intersects with entrance aisle), with some of that "magic" clothing—the stuff that stretches and one size really does fit nearly all.
As far as the rest of the mall (we only looked at the first floor and the one under it), the prices were AWESOME and quality appeared to be somewhere between okay and good. There was tremendous selection as far as style. I think almost all of it is nationally-made brands, which would keep the prices low.
Most sellers speak English. Cheap shopping around here. Mainly women clothing but some clothes for gentlemen can be found at good prices.
Ninety per cent ladies stuff. Quality generally poorer compared to those sold at Lotte Fitin, which is just across the road. But prices are cheaper and shop keepers are very persistent. If u are on budget, this will be a god place.
We accidentally dropped by this mall which is surprisingly hardly any customers. There are a lot of shops but no customers. A t-shirt can be as expensive as 30,000krw. I guess that is the reasons why no customers were around when we were there.
Give this a miss.
