Owner description: The history of ordinary Koreans.

The displays show the history of the Korean people thoroughly. It is interesting to browse through the many displays however it may get repetitive after a while. For those who don't like walking, this museum may be a bad choice however it doesn't involve too much walking. Warning: there is a show at this museum that many would not appreciate, but it shows how people were entertained in the past. All in all, this museum is worth the time. Free admittance by the way.

I found the National Folk Museum of Korea to be an excellent site to visit during my short trip to Seoul this month. Entry into the museum was relatively inexpensive and once inside, there were LOADS of things to see and explore. I spent only about an hour in the museum; however, I would recommend allocating a bit more time (2 or more hours) to fully explore and enjoy.

The gardens where really pretty and some amazing buildings to have a look at.
Was really busy and full of school kids when we went.

Better than reading a book about Korean culture is seeing it with your own eyes - from the inside of homes, to childbirth practices, clothing, the tools of everyday living and more. I learned more about Korea from this museum than from any of the others I visited.

If you are a type of a history lover person, please pay attention to the tourist guide during the visit. From the beginning, you have to follow every details carefully. From this visit, u'll know how their culture works on born, marriage, deaths etc. It is visualize by using graphics and dolls, very interesting. The area are separated by rooms, u'll travel from room to room with a different stories.
