It is important to note there are 2 Sutton Hotels in this area - Myeongdong and Seoul. Make sure you know which one you are staying at. The front desk was friendly and helpful, and they speak English fairly well. We booked a single room with one bed, and the room was pretty small, but served its purpose for a good nights rest and a shower. There is a 7-11 downstairs if you need to buy anything.

The best part about this hotel is it is near 2 Subway lines (around 3-5 minute walk). There are not a lot of places to eat downstairs, but you are around 10-15 minute walk from Myeongdong shopping area and Avenue of Youth (for pubs and restaurants).

Tip: A lot of taxi drivers do not know where this place is, and they do not understand English very well. Ask the Front Desk for an address card to show your taxi driver if you need a ride back to the hotel.

I stayed here last year with my 2 siblings, brother in law and 1 year old nephew at the time. The hotel was really great; VERY clean, front desk staff was very helpful, and had a 7-11 in the basement of the building (accessible via elevator). We had twin sized beds in our room, which was actually pretty good because we all got our own beds. One of the best parts of the hotel was in the bathroom - there was a Samsung bidet toilet seat... first time I've ever seen it and used it and it was amazing!

If you don't speak Korean, it's really hard to get around, but luckily, the front desk was able to write down some key places for us and we just handed it to the cab driver and off we went, safe and sound. Seoul was BEAUTIFUL and so clean, cleaner than I'd imagined.

The location could be better, but we didn't really know our way around, so it wasn't too bad. I really liked this hotel overall!

i used taxi from incheon airport to euljiro (sutton hotel)
but the taxi driver cant find this hotel, because the location behind some industrial (porcelain) shop.not in the main road.

recomend : if u lost..go to sutton hotel myeongdong (still same company) rather than u circle around the block.

what about the hotel ,
1. affordable
2. close to euljiro MRT, its best acces to everywhere.
3. the guest officer is really helpfull
4. there is small seven eleven at basement floor
5.simple room .

We spent 5 nights at this hotel, while packing up all my daughters things to come home. It really was a great stay. The hotel is lovely and clean and seems very new. The rooms were small, but big enough for our needs. Bathrooms great and very clean! The staff were all very helpful and spoke good English, quite unusual for South Korean hotels. Had breakfast daily which was very adequate and catered for the Asian and Western visitors alike. It was well positioned being close to two subway stations, and being close to the main road taxi cabs were easily available. The hotel offered an hourly shuttle service into Seoul Station too. The staff very kindly phoned for a taxi for us when we were leaving. I would stay there again should I visit Seoul!

Room Tip: We had a twin, non smoking room which was clean and really great, with a great view of the Namsung T...

The most positive thing about this hotel is the price, which is very affordable. For the price, you get an acceptable hotel, but nothing more.

The rooms are well designed, but the beds are not very comfortable, the rooms smell like smoke, I saw two rooms both of which were not the cleanest (ex: hair near the drain in the bathroom).

Also the walls are paper thin so bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

Breakfast was pretty good and service was good, staff spoke enough english.

If you can put up with average cleanliness and you aren't a light sleeper, this might be decent value if you're looking to be in this area. But overall I can't say I enjoyed my stay here.

This is a great little hotel at an affordable price near the main shopping district of Myeongdong. The staff were friendly and accommodating helping out with booking tours and transport. The location was a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of Myeongdong but the lower price of the hotel made this an affordable and convenient option for accommodation. Although not all staff members were fluent in English (other languages include Japanese and Chinese), they were always friendly and would attempt to help or inform us of when the next staff member with stronger English skills would be working. One small issue is that the rooms are not completely sound proof and some mumbling noises can be heard through the walls at night. I would definitely stay here again!

A lot of the reviews mention the obvious about this hotel - that it is a little off the beaten track – but once you’ve figured out Seoul’s excellent Subway system, it’s really not a problem. Taxis also didn’t have a problem finding it once you showed them an address card in Korean or a screenshot of Google Maps (other than that Google Maps is of no use in Seoul and don’t believe what they say about there being free wifi everywhere, it’s all lies!)

We booked a terrace room for our 4 night stay and first impressions were good. The room is decorated nicely, spacious and is equipped with all the mod-cons you would require. The 7/11 in the basement is excellent and the gentleman who works there is more than happy to help you with your noodle bowl and beer purchases!

Now to the downsides. The outdoor bath-tub was very dirty and the ‘garden’ overgrown with weeds. Also, we are both former smokers and on the second day we came back to the room reeking of smoke. We couldn’t understand where it was coming from but it must have been coming in through the air-conditioning system or bathroom vent and it was choking. Then the temperature control system stopped working. We ended up having to sleep with the window open in sub-zero temperatures because the room was heating up to well over 30 degrees even though we had it set to 22 (then 19 then 15… nothing made any difference). We reported this issue to reception who said they would have someone look into it however unfortunately nothing was ever done about it and we suffered from terrible sleep throughout our stay.

I understand this is a fairly new hotel and it’s problems with ventilation and air conditioning systems are well documented on this site. Some of the front-desk staff have very limited English despite it being advertisted as an English-speaking hotel. Hopefully they will manage to get it sorted soon as this hotel has a lot going for it.
