“Great location, Clean Rooms”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

The location of the hotel is great, there's two 7-11 in the vicinity and walking distance to city hall and Euljiro 1(il)-ga, shopping areas - Myeongdong, namdemum. the rooms are modern and clean, no iron provided so we had wrinkled clothes. Do NOT opt for their breakfast, we stayed there for 5 nights and had the same breakfast every morning.

This newer hotel is centrally located near Namdaemun (close to the City Hall subway stop) and there are lots of restaurants nearby. The room size is decent and the king bed is comfortable. The bathroom design however, is an issue. It’s a glass enclosure -not so much a privacy issue because of the partial frosted glass but if one person is in the bathroom and the light is on, it may disrupt the other person at night. They provide a free bottle of water and shaver, q tips, yet they would charge 5,000 won on such basics as shampoo, conditioner and lotion (set package).
An earlier review mentioned the construction noise but we didn’t find it to be a problem since we’re out during the day and night time is quiet.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter.

I was traveling alone for business, and found this hotel to fit the bill perfectly. It was perfectly comfortable, very clean, within walking distance to several shopping districts, and easy to get to from the airport. (From Incheon Airport: Take the subway to Hongik University, transfer to line 2 to go to City Hall. When you leave the City Hall station, use exit #7. Walk straight at the top of the stairs, turn left at the traffic signal, then take your second right. The hotel will be on your right in about a block.)

I found that prices changed dramatically depending on when I searched, so if it seems pricey, check back later.

We managed to get a "luxury" room with decent price. The location is excellent, as shops, cafeterias, many attractions and city hall metro stop are walking distance. Wireless net, safety box and large tv are provided. However, I cannot really recommend the hotel, because of the following reasons:

- toilet door/wall is made of glass! I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy watching by friend take a dump! You cannot easily cover it even.
- no free shampoo is supplied. Actually only complimentary thing was one small water and soap.
- it was freaking hot in the (8th floor) room as so called air conditioning only blows some air and does not cool it down.
- only one plug in the room
- they gave us only one keycard, so if one of us went out alone, another one was staying without electricity in the room waiting - lift did not work without keycard.

We did not try the 12000 won breakfast nor sauna premises.

Stayed 6 night's in this hotel. The hotel is "new" but i doubt the building is new. I guess it is a retro fit building. Overall i do find this hotel value for its money despite some "improvement" needed

It is almost Central located. For 1st timer, it can be a little bit challenging to locate it as it block by several tall building and located in kind of alley doesn't help. Having say that, it is 5-7mins walking distance to few main attraction place etc CheongYecheon Stream, Namdaemun, Lotte hotel. If you decide to walk abit more, it is about 10mins to MyeongDong main shopping street.

Given space constraint in Seoul, i find this hotel "spacious" enough. It maybe small for western visitor's but for me, i've seen smaller. Rooms equip with most basic amenities but lack of shampoo, bidet system (which i'm very surprise)and they don't have iron available (not even from housekeeping). Rooms carpet seems old though but the room is clean. Bed is comfort enough so are the pillows. The room came with Lavender pillow which my wife love it alot. We tried to make inquiry on making a purchase on it but staff English communication level make it though.

I do noticed 1 thing though. It seems like the air conditioning system is controlled by the hotel. You can only control the fan speed. During first few days of my stayed, there is only heater sign display on my aircond display no matter how i tried to change, it just won't go to cooling mode. As last few days as outside temp slightly warmer, i noticed the display changed from heater to cooling sign without i do anything

Hotel is located short walk from City Hall metro station (closest exit 7) and convenient location to move around city. Service at front desk was basic, not surprising, but efficient and fast.

Rooms have a spacious feeling; even there is not lot of m2. Our room window was facing to building next door and was taped using white film blocking view to out and in. In room there is big bed and TV, table, tea making facilities. In bathroom there is a bathtub, nice to have when travelling with kids. Sink within desk, feeling is light and spacious. Maintenance is done well, nothing that I could hope for more. Sound isolation; well that’s the problem, we could hear clearly speak from surrounding rooms, no noise was heard from outside.

Breakfast was served at first floor coffee shop. Nothing special and same food every day, that was not so good, but was good choice with kids. Breakfast was included in our room price.

It’s ok in total, but not more than that and I could consider staying here again.

I travelled with one child, stayed in room that was for two (standard, twin bed).

decided to stay here for a weekend trip with my mum in mid March. When exitingout on exit 7 City hall metro walk straight and cross the road and turn left, and then take the first right and left again. The hotel directly faces The Plaza hotel. It is next to some construction work at the moment though I couldn't hear much noise.

We arrived quite early and was told that no early check in was allowed and thatif we would like it would cost 40,000KRW not until 2pm. We were allowed to check in at 12pm in the end.

The hotel is very basic but clean. The lobby is nothing to admire, very small with limited seating. The location is great within 5 minutes to Namaedum market and 10 minutes to Myeongdong.

We stayed in a double room, which was sufficient but small. The bathroom as noted by other reviewers could be uncomfortable for people due to the frosted glass although you mostly cannot see unless you stood right against the glass. Please note that the shower gel and shampoo is not free so bring your own! This is a bit odd for a hotel, also only one bottle of water is provided for a double room which is a bit weird.

There is a sauna in the hotel but it is only for MEN which was a bit unfair but perhaps this is quite normal.

We did not have the breakfast so i can't comment but there are many shops surrounding the area, so we did not feel the need.

Overall the hotel is not bad, great location but not much more to praise. It would be great if the staff would be a bit more attentive too!
