“Short but excellent stay”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

While I was there the hotel was under major renovations with some areas closed and scaffolding outside my window. That said the front desk let us know of everything at check in and apologised for any inconvenience caused. That said I hardly noticed they were going on as it was done during the hours that I was at work. You could tell that renovations were a good idea as the rooms were in excellent condition. Breakfast was good also. would definitely stay there again.

Good hotel with nice big rooms and a breakfast to really enjoy.
Hotel has a good location and it has straight bus ride from airport so there is no hassle how to get there, staff is helpful and knows their own town well. Breakfast is really a proper one and you won't be hungry when leaving. All in all good business hotel. Not the cheapest not the most expensive either.

Ive stayed here for a week, nice hotel with good rooms. Located in a pleasant area with heaps of bars and restaurants.
Upon checked i showed my frequent flyer card and then the mood changed. According the lady it was not possible to accumulate points, this card should have been presented during the booking process.
Staff was not very helpful anymore and kept hiding behind the standard excuse that it is a hotel policy. Load of bull! When the credit card was on the desk im a good customer but when the hotel needs to. Give something to a loyal guest they refuse it. As said, disappointing end of a pleasant stay

We stayed here as a family on the last 2 nights of a package tour to Korea. While the hotel’s location is really not in the strategic city center, we really did not mind as we were in a tour and our activities were set for us and transportation was provided for. The rooms are good sized and clean with modern furnishing, a good bathroom and good amenities. The beds were comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. The staff were capable and respectful. Breakfast was great and varied. Overall, this was a good and comfortable hotel.

After spending days outside of Seoul, it's wonderful checking back into an international standard modern hotel. Our Superior Twin room on the 7th floor came ready with 1 double bed,1 single bed, 6 pillows and 2 cushions - both soft and hard pillows were given. The bedding puffy and very comfortable for good night rest. Even though it was May/Spring, aircon was available and we could adjust the temp. The room and bathroom neat and clean. Full toiletries (refilled daily) include tooth brushes, unlike many other 5star hotels in Seoul. Safe (wide but not deep), robe, 2 free mineral water daily, coffee making facilities were available with good coffee and tea bags. We liked the glass window bathroom design as it gave a spacious impression when all curtains were drawn. However, it may not be convenient for some especially when the blinds and door cannot shut tightly.

It's a busy hotel with free high speed wifi in lobby and breakfast restaurant 'Stone Plate'. Stone Plate was brightly lit with sunlight, quality international selections, many colourful fresh juices and yogurt. Service professional and fast. We spent awhile relaxing, connecting wifi and enjoying breakfast here everyday. On the other hand, the lobby, while spacious with many seats, were always crowded with people using wifi during morning and evening.

Concierge was really attentive, familiar with foreign cultures, spoke good English and always smiling. They showed us a 5min walk to the nearby Seorae Maeul (French Village) with many beautiful cafes and restaurants (eg. Khanbu Chicken with draft beer, Kraze Burger, Paris Baguette, Paris Croissant bakery, Japanese, Vietnamese and Singaporean restaurants, and of-course typical Korean eateries). There were also 2 bigger grocery stores here (not 7eleven) where prices and varieties were cheaper and more than the 24hr convenience store next to the hotel. The whole 'village' needed only 20-30mins to cover and a good place to stroll for coffee breaks and dinner.

In another direction from the hotel, it's less then 10min walk to Subway Line 3, 7, 9 (Express Bus Terminal station Exit 5). The big Shinshaegae dept store is here for quick shopping too.

Some minor issues to note:
- Impossible to open big luggages (27") when they were placed on the wall mounted mabel slab. Can place on the floor (thus lose walking space) or hopefully on the seats near the windows.
- No shower curtains in bathroom and water keeps flowing off the half covered glass door.
- Room were directly facing a residential block and we have to draw the curtains almost whole evening.
- Located in Gangnam district but far from most tourist attractions on the North side of the Han river.
- Only 3 scheduled free shuttle to Myeongdon, Itaewon and Dongdaemun. Believed it starts at 11am, last one departs at 3pm

We may stay here again if it is for business purpose in Gangnam, but probably not if it is a leisure and shopping trip, due to it's location (need to avoid peak hour traffic crossing the river).

I enjoyed my stay at the Seoul Palace Hotel. I stayed there on business for 6 days and was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms. The rooms were comfortable, clean and functional. The bed was very comfortable, with nice bedding and i enjoyed a really good nights sleep. The room was adequately furnished with excellent toiletries. The hotel restaurant was good with a decent spread of food at breakfast, however, the restaurant food at dinner, including room service was fairly expensive. The quality of food provided in the restaurant was of a high standard and good quality. The location of the hotel is good, although it is not located in the downtown tourist area, a nearby walk takes you to lots of small street restaurants, as well as a large shopping mall "Shinshaegae".The staff were very courteous and helpful, with a good command of English. I would recommend this hotel, just note it is a 10 minute taxi drive to City Hall.

Stayed 2 months upon arrival in Korea: staff is very nit and helpful. Rooms are well decorated and clean, lounge is not the best but offer coffee, fresh fruits and cakes all day long. Location is close enough to the subway to go anywhere => a good choice
