Samsung D’light is a great place to spend an hour if you have children who are into technology. It is right next to Gangnam Station. We came out of gate 8. It is free of charge and interactive, showcasing some of Samsung’s plans for the future and everyday use of technology. Your wristband keeps track of your progress and if you give your email then your photos will be sent to you. There is a short Virtual Reality roller coaster ride which we later found to be a mini taster of the Samsung Mine Train ride at Ocean Park in Hong Kong.

When exploring the Gangnam area, definitely check out Samsung d'light! Located conveniently right off the Gangnam stop on the 2 metro line, this is a fun and free activity for adults and children 8 and up. I went on a Saturday around 12:30 pm, and it was not crowded at all.

Enter on street level, and you receive a wristband that keeps track of your progress as you go through a cycle of interactive stations where you explore aspects of your personality that you value and play a few games to create your world of the future. The experience is offered in Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese, made to accommodate both domestic and foreign visitors.

There are opportunities to test out Samsung's new technology, such as virtual reality headsets and interactive experiences. We played one game where you are on a very high floor of a skyscraper and have to walk out on a plank to pick up doughnuts and cake at the end of a plank! So cool! The staff were very friendly as well!

On the upstairs level there are rooms displaying new smart-home technology by Samsung, such as a fridge that alerts you when food is going bad, a wardrobe that simulates styles based on the clothing you own and a door bell that shows who is at the door on screens around the house! It is cool to imagine homes of the future!

For travelers, it is also a spot with great wifi and bathrooms.

We went in from the top floor, was hard to find from the outside. Would recommend going in from inside the shopping centre. Register to get a wrist band which is free, we walked around without any trouble but they offered a guide if needed. Great place if you are a fan of technology. Lots of activities including building your own planet, choosing your own profile Etc which you can link to your email if you wish. There are 2 free VR rides - roller coaster and a pig. Can also row, drive a car etc using their tech. Can also see their new tvs.

Samsung d'light is an impressive showcase for what technology can do already today and give you an idea of what the near future might bring. Although you won't see any revolutionary technology still in development, you'd still be able to experience how connected technology can be beneficial to your daily life already today. It's free, so if you are in the area a good spot to spend a couple of hours.
