I totally recommend this hotel, very nice , quite , and super staff working there , they are very friendly and very helpful. Its a nice gateway from an exhausting week of work , but its not a vacation hotel where you find a beach , The pool is nice and kind of relaxing and quite , its not kind of a pool of loud music and drinking atmosphere:S ..

The hotel is new (and carpets need already maintenance) and has a nice pool, but:
-Its far from anywhere and cabdrivers have always a hard time finding it. Furthermore we ask for a transfer from the airport that never happened, nor they responded our email.
- The hotel has no signage whatsoever: no signs on elevator, no lobby signs on ground floors, no restaurant signs, etc.
- No WiFi, not even on so called "executive floor"
- Poor, unprepared staff. At the reception they were unable to find us a cab for 6 in the morning. We had to take the airport shuttle which was late

This hotel opened early 2010 and when I stayed in November it was still in the process of getting all the facilities up and running. Still to come is a Thai restaurant and a bar/nightclub, plus many more rooms. What they do have running already is mostly excellent.

The main pool area is superbly done. It is even slightly heated for those chilly desert evenings. The poolside heated jacuzzi was very nice too.
Breakfast was excellent. A big buffet with something for everyone.
The rooms were spacious and very comfortable.
All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Any special requests were dealt with promptly.

Now for the negatives:
Internet access is either wi-fi in the lobby or a cable in the room. Either way, it was very expensive. Every other hotel that I visited in Egypt had free wi-fi.
The location is ~45 minutes from the city centre. There is absolutely nothing within walking distance of the hotel.
There is very little in the way of any shops within the hotel.
The gym is rather under-equipped.
Very little information on the hotel is provided in the rooms. There is no map to show where the various facilities are.

On the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel seems to be continuously improving and will certainly be much better once everything is completed.

At first glance the hotel seemed very nice but the overall experience was very disappointing and not worthy of a '5 star' grade.

- Room keys were deactivated 3 times a day for no apparent reason
- Bar & pool service was appallingly poor - this included a 1 hr wait for a bottle of water, 2 hour wait for food, and once food/drink arrived we were asked to pay immediately (on one occasion the pool staff asked us to pay while we were in the pool)!
- We rarely had hot water in the rooms.
- Rooms were not made up unless we called
- On Sunday morning @ 8am staff were knocking on our door because they wanted to 'top up' our mini bar. Very annoyed to be woken up and disturbed for such a trivial reason at that time of morning.
- Staff do not speak very good English (which is ok) but they shake their head and tell you they understand and bring you something that you haven't ordered.

Stayed three nights in the Dusit Thani as part of a trip to the Sahara desert - we stayed two nights before the trip and one night after. The hotel looks absolutely beautiful, the foyer and pool area are both very luxurious while the bedrooms are large and very well equipped. We enjoyed fabulous breakfasts and lovely dinners in the main restaurant but beware don't leave your breakfast table for too long while rooming the buffet or your table will be cleared!!!! As part of a large international group I expected second to none service, unfortunately the service was awful. While the staff were very nice they did not seem to be trained sufficiently to deal with any queries. I asked for a iron and iron board and was told i would have it immediately however when I rang back 20 minutes later I was told there was no ironing board so I asked for the iron only (you would think this would have been assumed). After another 20 minutes I rang back to be told there were no irons!!! Some people did not get their early morning wake up calls on the day of departure while most guests had problems getting their drinks orders at the pool bar (we waited nealry 1 hour for a beer and a coffee!).

a modern , good looking hotel, but unfortunately let down by the location to the city and lack of amenities - you will need a taxi which will take at least 40mins , (the hotel insists that you take their hotel taxi which costs five times the local rate )
i wanted to relax in their spa but was told that it has not been build yet (still under construction will not be ready for months) , the same for their Thai restaurant (under construction )
the staff are all very helpful but not trained on how a 5star hotel should be

First, let me say that this hotel is brand new, very clean and has an amazing swimming pool area. However, currently, its location is right in the middle of nowhere. Nothing surrounds it but houses currently being built. There is a gas station up the road too. The hotel is a solid 30-60 minutes to downtown depending on traffic. So, I would highly recommend this hotel if you need to overnight in Cairo (as it is pretty close to the airport), but it will be a large pain for tourists who want to see the city. Stay in Cairo. There are a lot of choices along the Nile (and elsewhere) and it is worth it for the experience. We stayed here and in one of the hotels along the Nile during our trip. The Dusit Thani was more of a "resort" hotel where you just stay at the hotel, go to the pool etc. In a couple years, the location will be better and I would recommend it, until then, find something else.
