The main problem for this hotel is the location.
The first room I had overlooked the Nile which although picturesque does not help for a relaxing stay. As soon as dusk falls the neon party boats fill up the river blasting out music that can be easily heard from the rooms.
I then moved onto the other side of the hotel to find I was situated above the entrance of a market and a wedding venue. People gather and play very loud music to welcome the couple in and this lasts for a long time!
Is this the hotels fault? Well, I did have an apologetic email from the General Manager on my return home however, with investment from the group the hotel could be soundproofed which would solve both sides of the hotel.
Apart from the noise the money has obviously been spent on the public rooms rather than the rooms with mine being very tired.
Also the pool area is not what you would expect from a 4* property.
In summary, look around the area as there are a number of similar hotels which I am sure are better than this one. A disappointment for the Accor group.More
