Fortunately, we only had to stay for one night. The hotel has a nice lobby, but the rest is very shabby and quite dirty. Both of our rooms had a lot of dust in them, stinky carpets, stained linen, etc. We had lunch in the hotel's "Italian" restaurant. The (very forgettable) food was on the airline, but we had to pay for drinks. We had one bottle of water which we signed for -- it was to be paid on check-out (by credit card because we had no local currency). However, five minutes after we got to our room a very insistent waiter from the restaurant knocked on the door and demanded that we pay for the water immediately and in cash. We pointed out that the bill would be settled on check-out, and that the water was signed for. After that he became very rude, accused us of theft, etc. In the end, we had to go back to the restaurant to pay the amount (about $1) by credit card and then did the same after dinner. It would be amusing if it weren't so annoying.

In the morning, the airport shuttle (operated by the hotel) was 40 minutes late and we had to hustle at the airport in order not to miss our flight.

While this hotel has a lovely foyer, and the rooms are quite good, the service we experienced was laughable.
There is no alcohol served in this hotel, I was offered printing, the offer was then revoked, and THEN given again, and after the printing was completed, the MANAGER decided to charge me for this 'unoffered' service.
Waiters in the breakfast room were lazy and unprofessional.
Sure you can find much better for the same price, even though this is close to the airport.
I recommend leaving Cairo on a Friday or Saturday (ie their weekend) so that you can comfortably stay somewhere else in a better downtown location.

This hotel is a good value if you are at the END of your Egypt trip and want to stay near the airport. We used it after we had already seen all of Cairo, and were just stopping in Cairo for overnight after we finished the southern Egypt tour. It is 10 minutes from the airport, in a congested and noisy (all of Cairo is) area but right across the street from the Presidential Palace, so its a safe area. I walked the area quite extensively, and its got many shops nearby. Fast food choices within a few blocks, and a small store across the street to get drinks for the room. Excellent breakfast buffet choices, clean and spacious room, interesting elevator with glass walls to watch yourself go up and down, luxurious lobby. The exterior of the hotel is odd in that they haven't painted it, so it looks a bit drab, but don't let that fool you - it luxurious on the inside. Nice last minute souvenir shopping in lobby near restaurant. Nice coffee shop for a sandwich, and nice Italian restaurant (we tried that also) in hotel. All around good choice for near the airport hotel when you don't need to go into Cairo anymore. Cairo traffic can really waste alot of your time, so stay in Giza when you are sightseeing, stay in Heliopolis when you are done sightseeing, and just want to stop over near the airport.

Disappointments at this hotel are that there is no pool I could see, and there is no business centre Internet, but they DO have wireless Internet. Supposedly there are Internet cafes nearby, but I couldn't find them.

This is a lovely hotel, beautiful rooms. It was noisy as we overlooked the main road but worse - we had an interconnecting door (locked) and the person came back at 2am and put the TV on full blast. We had to phone reception and ask them to phone him to turn it down. The restaurant is expensive but we ate in the Italian cafe - ok. THIS IS A DRY HOTEL, no beer. Also, it is quite a walk into Heliopolis, you would have to get a taxi. Otherwise not much near to hotel. We stayed there as we had to be at the airport early next day.

We stayed here for 1 night after flying back from luxor. It is a nice hotel, we stayed on the 6th floor, clean large room with balcony. The all you can eat dinner buffet was pricey, but had delicious veal.
