Stayed for 2 nights in April 2013 at this 4th floor hostel (lift is old and sometimes does not work) in a safe down town location for a very good price. Handy Gad restaurant and El Abd bakery across the road, plus plenty of other restaurant options.
Hostel arranged good airport transfer for $10USD and also a days transport plus guide to pyramids (Giza, Dahshur, Saqqara) at a good price ( I shopped around and this was the best price).
Always very prompt in answering Emails when planning my trip. Staff are very friendly and helpful, they helped me with my luggage and arranging a taxi to Giza station for me.
Single Room was clean with old but effective air conditioning. Street noise, yes, but expect this in downtown Cairo. I had no problem sleeping through it after my busy days.
Shared Bathroom was old, mainly clean, typical backpacker standard. Breakfast was basic but OK (bread , Jam, egg, cheese, coffee). Walking distance to Tahrir Square and Egyptian Museum. Overall a good experience that I would recommend to other backpacker/ hostel travellers.More
