Terrific central location. 6 blocks or so from Tahrir Square. Good value for the money. A busy nightlife cafe scene goes on until the wee hours every night below the rooms. People who have trouble sleeping with some noise around would probably be frustrated. Staff speaks halting but good-enough English and their attitude is always helpful. Rooms don't have a desk or table so if you're a writer this is not ideal, though there is a large dining table in a central room that one can use.

Previous comments about this hotel are accurate – it’s a very pleasant & friendly place to stay, good value for money and an excellent choice if you don’t mind the noise of the street and the bathroom set up. The streets at the front and the side of the hotel become outdoor restaurants, operating very noisily until late at night. The bathrooms have been created within the original rooms, just using opaque glass walls reaching half way to the ceiling – so if you’re squeamish about bathroom noises, smells and some visibility, this isn’t the hotel for you.
We moved rooms after the first night due to the bathroom door not closing and a completely unacceptable mattress in which the springs came through so badly we had to sleep on top of the duvet. The second room was better on both counts, but wasn’t cleaned any of the 3 nights we stayed there – despite the notice on the bathroom wall requesting that toilet paper to be thrown in a rubbish bin, not the toilet. This lack of room cleaning may have been because we kept our key during the day, but we only thought of this after we had left and no one asked us for it. The toilet also leaked in both rooms and became quite smelly.
All the staff are very lovely. It is, however, hard for us to judge the normal standard of service as an Australian woman was staying long term and helping out, giving excellent support – which may not, of course, always be available. We were given access to the hotel’s computer and internet, which was most welcome. We also organised a day trip through the hotel, which was OK.
The décor is not as grand as it is made to look on the website. Oddly, the windows are painted over, so to see outside you have to open them – which lets in insects & street noise. Without opening them, the rooms are dark.
The location is very convenient for the Egyptian Museum, restaurants, shopping, etc. Just a warning that taxi drivers may have difficulty finding it, especially as the surrounding streets are one-way and the hotel is on a pedestrianised street, so you have to walk the last 100m or so.

Room Tip: Go for number 5 and avoid no 1

I only paid 30 dollars a night and got my own room, nice breakfast, own bathroom, nothing to complain about for the price. If the sheets covered the entire mattress, and the bathroom was bigger, and there was a desk (no desk in the room) it would be 6 star rating...
It's good if you are a solo budget traveler. If you are two, it's difficult if one's using the bathroom, it's not such a private bathroom.

My girl and I stayed here for four nights on september 12. We would come back again, no doubt about it. Nice, clean, cheap place to stay at.

It is located on a busy commercial street and the atmosphere on the neighbourhood is nice (although a little noisy at night).

But let me tell you something: WE FOUND HERE THE MOST HONEST EGYPTIAN OF THE ENTIRE TRIP (MR. AHMED HOSSEIN). Really, I would come back to this place just for this man, he helped us a lot.

This hotel is tucked in a pedestrian alley behind the Central Bank of Egypt. At night the pedestrian alley turns into several sheesha cafes. Yes, you can hear the noise from your room. but the noise dies down by midnight. i am an extremely light sleeper, but by the time you get back to the hotel, you are so exhausted from your day, it is easy to sleep right thru the noise

The hotel is divided into two parts. off to the right is where the reception is with a couple of rooms. Room 2 (our room) is off to the left, with several more rooms and the dining area. our room was very lovely, with two small terraces. the only negative about our room is that the bathroom is a part of the room. It sounds odd. there is no roof to the bathroom. therefore, you can hear everything. if you are travelling a with a companion, either you need to be very comfortable with each other, probably work out a schedule (hanging out on there terrace is also a good option)

The hotel staff was amazing. we cannot say enough fabulous things about them. I emailed them alot before our trip, they were so attentive and patient with me. they even arranged our cruise from Aswan to Luxor.

Only negative about the hotel is that they arranged a driver for us (this is of no fault of the hotel's). everyone has been bragging about Egyptian Bob in their reviews. he comes across as being very nice, but the more time we spent with him, we realized he was just a bully who wanted our money. it got to a point that he would just point to random places and tell us what they were. when in fact he was just saying they were the point of interest just to shut us up.

Room Tip: Get Room 2. right on the corner, large, spacious, clean
