A good clean hotel in a very busy city. Stayed 3 nights to attend a wedding. View from the 12th floor balcony of the beautiful gardens below. So nice to relax in the garden and enjoy food from the cafe. All the staff went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay an enjoyable one.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors overlooking the gardens also have views of the Nile

A beautiful hotel in the middle of the city in a great pocket suburb called zamalek. The decor of the hotel is older similar to other mariotts and they have all facilities that you would expect. The location is the main attraction. Zamalek is a leafy suburb in the middle of the city with some beautiful euro-style buildings There are great cafe and restaurants in walking
distance. I would suggest skipping the hotel food offering and discover some of the outside places. It's a faction of the price and it's still of western standard. Check out Cairo kitchen and left bank.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your feedback on your stay at the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino. We are a historical property which was originally built by Khedive Ismail Pasha for the inauguration of the Suez Canal celebrations in 1869. The Palace housed European monarchs, including Empress Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III, and was also the venue for the first performance of Verdi’s Opera Aida.
We take our customer feedback of utmost importance and would like to assure you that we continue to benchmark all our pricing against the market and updates are made accordingly.

We are delighted that you have enjoyed your stay at the Palace. It will always be our pleasure to have you at the Cairo Marriott Hotel as our valued and esteemed guest.

Thanking you again for your valuable comments and we look forward to welcome you back to the Palace in the near future.

Best Regards,
Emy El Shourbagi

This hotel is absolutely overpriced.

It's big, it's nice, it's well located, it's probably the safest hotel in Cairo. The restaurants inside the hotel are good.

But for 240$ per night I expect something more.
The service is fairly good, people at the reception are usually not very accommodating.

The free wifi is only available in the lobby.
Every time I need the internet connection I have to leave my room and spend my time in the lobby. In 2013 this is absurd.

If you ask for a garden view room you might be able to connect to the wifi from the balcony but at the reception they know this and they will try not to accommodate your request.

great location for a hotel in the heart of Zamalek with the interesting 26th july street at walking distance, lots of cafes around the area, embassies and ofcourse facing the Nile. the healthclub and swimming pool is a great place to relax. service is consistently good. Its an expensive hotel and breakfast is not included - have to pay USD 15/day extra for breakfast. internet is free and good.

Room Tip: rooms in the Zamalek tower facing the gardens and swimming pool are quieter and you get the sun.

Stayed here with my wife as part of our honeymoon trip. This property is probably the nicest place in all of Cairo and definitely felt removed from the turmoil most of the city is seeing right now.

Since this used to be a palace, you get the impression you are in old-world Cairo, even though the hotel is very modern.

We got a high floor room with a view of the Nile and I highly recommend this over the other room types.

The restaurant has great authentic food and the hookah bar was phenomenal. If you are a westerner looking for a place where you will feel secure while in Cairo, I highly recommend this hotel.
