The best bit about this hotel is its staff and their service. Especially noteworthy is Amir Hamdy who is a desk manager. We had some minor issues on the 1st day of our arrival which Amir sorted out extremely calmly and efficiently. Rest of the staff is very helpful too.

The hotel is very close to the airport and well placed for an overnight stay or a short visit. They run a free shuttle to the city centre thrice daily with the last pick up back from the centre at 3pm. A cab would cost you about 70 Egyptian pounds (about US $14) one way.

With 5 restaurants serving a variety of cuisine there is no dearth of good food in the hotel. Breakfast in their Cafe Jardin was quite sumptuous too.

Another attractive feature is the Executive floor. Rooms here include breakfast which can be taken in Cafe Jardin or availed of in the Executive Lounge. The Lounge also serves complimentary tea or coffee and cakes from 3 -5 pm and complimentary alcoholic drinks from 7 - 9 pm. Worth paying extra for.

If you want complete relaxation book a garden view room as the pool side can be a bit noisy in the evenings and nights due to the hotel being a popular venue for weddings and functions.

All things considered, this is a very good hotel if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cairo. I would go back there - especially for the excellent service.

walking distance from the nile..amazing nightlife in and around the dwntown area..also can go to sheratan casino. rooms are ok and the service average but at these dirt cheap prices, one cant ask for more. is a bit noisy at evenings due to maintenace but ok. the bar is pretty good but a bit overpriced. good trips to pyramids at affordable prices. When our car got damage in the parking when we park wrong way, one of the staff helped us alot. He personally called his friend of police and took us to the police for the police report. We really appreciated.

Great property and friendly service. Swimming pool, terrace, breakfast are top.

When in cairo beware that everyone you talk to has an angle to sell something. Ask concierge to arrange taxis (fix rates in advance) instead of opting for rather expensive concorde arranged tours and taxis.

Far away from Cairo but you are much better off staying in heliopolis (location of the hotel and close the airport).

Nice facilities and property for the nightly rate BUT

1) far away from the city (takes 1 hour most of the time in horrible traffic that is typical Cairo)
2) veeerrrry expensive internet rates (although you can cross the street to the cafe for free, fast access)
3) veeerrrry expensive laundry (costed around $80 for a small bag of underwear!)
4) veeerrrry expensive food, breakfast, lunch or dinner (around $18 per meal)
5) the staff there will get you a taxi driver who will bring you to tourist sites at inflated prices, only to connect you with other tour guides that will try to cheat you even more (typical cairo)

My husband and I checked into the hotel because it was the 1st day of our honeymoon and we wanted to go to a nice place to catch up on our jet lag and just feel pampered. It was a rip off from the start... we got this extra "special package" for $40 to drink for free during happy hour (6pm-9pm) with dinner apps and breakfast included. You could only drink in the 2nd floor lobby room ... which was 14 feet by 18 feet (never enough sitting and the bar tender was always away) the apps were all recycled food from the 5 different restaurants downstairs and the only window in the room had thick drapes covering the outside world.
Once we were getting to experience Cairo and visit Giza we organized a trip through the hotel. It was $80 each person to visit the Pyramids, Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum with a taxi and guide for the day. Sign us up! it was a complete rip off and the hotel just blamed their taxi driver....

Our negative experience in Cairo stem from this hotel.
