Budget hotel in a good area. You can walk to shops and two very good restaurants are just out the front door. Friendly and efficient staff. Average facilities. Rooms clean and spacious. Nothing wrong with it.

It wasn't a great hotel, but it was at the best area of Cairo, especially if you travel alone. We were visiting a friend so we had to move around on our own a lot, and Zamalek was the best area to do that. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly. We were satisfied in general.

Stayed at this hotel in December 2009, arranged by our tour agent. Nothing much to say about this hotel as there’s nothing much the hotel has to offer either. It is a small adequate hotel. Located in Zamalek area. Embassies are all around. It could be the safest place in town with tight security or it could be the most dangerous place. Not far from the hotels are some shops. Grocery shops, pharmacies etc. Not a problem if you need to buy basic items such as bottled water. Walk a little bit more there are fast food outlets. As for attraction, I don’t find any nearby attraction. Most of the attractions are in Cairo anyway.

The room is very basic. Didn’t expect much anyway. TV is working find. Limited channels but some English channel . Better than nothing at all. Carpet is filthy. The room smells like cigarette smokes. Actually, everywhere in the hotel smells like cigarette smokes. Having to stay there for 4 days, even the clothes in the luggage smells like cigarette smokes. The wall is super thin. We could hear people walking in the hallway very loud and clear despite how a person walks. Even worst when someone is knocking on someone else’s door. Feels like the whole hotel could fall off anytime soon.

Complementary breakfast, just like any other 3 star hotel would offer, lots of different kind of bread (which is actually not bad), with butter, jam, cheese. There’s jus, cereal, coffee and tea. If you want egg, you have to request it. Just have to tell them how you like it. We only know about it on the very last day.

Most of the important talking to the hotel reception/staff is done by our tour guide in Arabic. Not that they can’t speak English, it’s just that they don’t look very friendly and very attentive to begin with. The hotel definitely has not internet…and believe this…no printer!!! We wanted to do the online check in and need to print the boarding pass. They couldn’t help us in any way. We saw the business center extension number in the directory but whenever we called, no one is on the other side of the line to answer. I don’t understand why they even bother to put the extension number there.

Since there’s nothing that I can compare with this hotel, I would say, stay there with NO EXPECTATION at all!!! and you’ll be fine.

As a retired travel agent and a seasoned traveller I have seen the worst. But with rooms that offer aircon and you get central hot air it takes the cake.especially in a hot place like Cairo. The windows did not lock and there was a long corridor out side on the 4th floor which did not have elevator access. The towels were thin and raggy and the breakfast was poor. The desk manager did not want to deal with a woman and just rolled his eyes.Cheap as chips not 3 star.

If you want only to sleep in hotel, like me, this hotel will be a good choice.
I know why somebody give this hotel 1 or 2 stars. At first, they gave me a room without view and without a good flow to shower. While I complained to the manager about that, he gave me another room, without any word.
Our new room has a balcony with a very good view. Suddenly, we found that 50 USD is really a good price. I will give this hotel 1 star if they donot give a new room. But now, I give it 4 stars.
Don't forget to request a better room!

First: THIS IS A THREE STARS HOTEL. You sure cannot review it by comparing it to other hotels like hilton, four seasons, hyatt, which price is indeed ten or more times larger. I was on a businness trip to attend a conference. I could book it with very short advance spending very little money (27 € / night). It is located on the island of zamalek in a neighborhood of embassies. The place is very quiet with respect to downtown. Cairo is a very safe place, but this is probably safer than other Cairo neighborhoods. I tipped the staff 5 egiptian pounds on arrival and on departure (which are around 50 cents of euros) to thank them for the good service; nothing was required to have the room cleant every day and the bed done. They clean bathroom and room every day.
The only issue with this place is it's location. If you like a green, quiet location and dont mind taking taxis it's perfect. To go to the cairo museum for example I walked 30 minutes. Each taxi driver actually will ask for around 20/25 egiptian pounds(probably tourist fare 2.5,3€ ) to take you downtown.
I dont include the pictures since I forgot to take some. Refer to the website to see some guest rooms. Actually mine was a little less nice, but had fridge and tv as the one depicted.
The staff also could book me a car service for 65 egiptian p. for the airport, while other taxis will usually ask for 100 or 120 egiptian p. or 15/20 $
Breakfast included a continental one and a middle-eastern one which actually i liked :)
I recommend this place if you want a very quiet neighborhood and you dont bother being a little far (walking) from downtown, citadel, bazar (cairo indeed is a big town).
