“A Peaceful and Different Place”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

The Hanging Church is really marvelous, just like everything else in the Coptic area of Egypt. It is July 2014 now. I urge everyone to visit and enjoy Cairo. It is safe. There are few tourists. It is a great time to come. Have all the sites for yourselves!

After coming from hot sun when you visit this church, you feel so peaceful inside. i wanted to just stay there for sometime & enjoy the bliss. Well maintained. There are two place from where you can peep why its called Hanging Church because its based on two pillars, you can see those two pillars. In front of the gate when you enter there is some history about this church on the wall.

Reviewed 16 July 2014

I am Muslim but been there many times and its a very quite church from inside and fell good when I visit it, its built on a gate so for that reason its called the hanging church and you can see the gate down from a glass on the flower of the church, entrance of the church you will see a nice drawing of the holy trip of the holy family, very nice old icons inside the church very old icons of Marry and Jesus and a nice ceiling made of wood

“A genuinely nice surprise”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

I really liked the history of Christians and Muslims working together, and how there's an enormous mosque next to an enormous Christian compound. Taha from Your Egypt Tours shared how the Coptic Christians supported the muslim invasion of Egypt because of the Roman persecution of the Coptics for so long. And how Coptic actually means Egyptian. Nice to see when Jesus and His parents stayed when he was a little boy. I was surprised that the Christian presence was so pronounced and co-existing peacefully. A lovely side trip and well worth a visit. Also to the mosque, churches and synagogue nearby.
