Although all the exhibits I wanted to see were not accessible on the day I went, because they were being set up or renovated; this is still an Oasis in the middle of Cairo . In addition to opera house shows, there are exhibitions of contemporary Egyptian artists, a nice clean cafe where intellectuals meet, and nice gardens and sculptures, kind of an open air museum. I did not like the level of service, guides in these places always act like secret service agents and not like information and hospitality staff. It's like they are just there to do a job and get a salary and not to provide a service or be the face of the establishment. Civic pride seems to be 0.
