You can't go inside the step pyramid, but right at the north-east corner of its base is a Serdab containing a life-size reproduction of the statue of the pharaoh Djoser. Look for a leaning cube, and peep through the small hole. The original statue holds a place of honour in the Cairo museum as it's thought to be the oldest life-size statue of Egyptian antiquity.
