While the Tomb of Ti may have a slight edge, the reliefs in Kagemni's tomb are still pretty amazing, showing scenes of hippo hunting, girls dancing, scribes accounting, and always offerings being presented to Mr. Kagemni himself. The quality of the raised relief is wonderful - note also the later additions to the decor, where the nameless figures of offering bearers have had crude hieroglyphic inscriptions carved next to them, so that they represent a named retainer of Kagemni. Best of all, you can wander around this tomb without being pestered by the guardian, which makes it rather more enjoyable than Ti.

Very well preserved wall paintings and carvings, colorful, vivid and lots of funny scenes: crocodile – hippopotamus duels, ballet – dancers (maybe this is the first kan-kan illustration?); fine details of animals, like frog, dragonfly, cricket. All fishes can be identified and flowers as well. Take your time to enjoy all the details, everything such alive! We spent almost 1 hour there. Just stand there and "read" the comic strips on the wall from ca. 4500 years ago! Reports about daily life: how difficult it was that day with the cattles or fishing and hunting, what troubles the crocodiles and/or the hyppos caused currently…

Just behind Kagemni mastaba there is the tomb of Nikauisesi, worth a visit as well.
Can be visited with the “normal” entrance ticket; 60.- LE.
