We were upgraded to this hotel because the Sheraton in Cairo was closed for renovation. On arrival my sister and I were astounded. A beautiful luxury hotel. Due to the problems the hotel was quite quiet and maybe this was one reason why the staff were so amazingly friendly and helpful, A marvellous experience. The visit was made even better by the marvellous attention of Traveline Egypt who despite us being 4 hours late on initial arrival waited patiently and helped book us into our hotel. Every day they checked that everything was going smoothly and provided the fascinating and charming Mahmoud as a guide to the historical sites as well as the lovely, cheerful and friendly Emad who drove us through the total chaos of Cairo with consumate skill and good humour. Between Traveline and the Fairmount our holiday was made tremendous.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights prior to a Nile cruise and for one night after the cruise. Our first room had a Nile view but was quite small with no easy chair or desk. We had no hot water the first morning, it was fixed for an evening shower but again no hot the next morning. I at least expected hot water at a 5 star hotlel! Wifi was available in the room but was expensive at $10 per 1/2 hour. On our return we had a room on a different floor that was a little biger with an easy chair and plenty of hot water. Staff were very friendly and professional. Beds were extremely comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an easy chair and desk

How does one begin to describe the best service? From the genuine warmth and hospitable nature of the Egyptian staff on top of their in-depth training, every employee I came in contact with at the hotel was gracious in delivering their service. They were genuinely interested in my thoughts and opinions about their hotel, service and their country.
My small requests were attended to immediately and my bigger requests were thoughtfully researched and presented to me for my approval.
I replied heavily on the concierge staff for my touring needs and they responded with excellence. From the professional guide, also a concierge employee, to the hotel drivers everyone did their best to make sure I enjoyed my visit. But the epitome of the service was a stunningly compassionate gesture of the type I have never experienced at any hotel.
After a 4 day Nile cruise (expertly arranged by the concierge staff), I was met at the airport and transported back to the hotel. The driver phoned the one of the concierge staff who then phoned my husband in Canada to say that I had safely returned!

Room Tip: A room overlooking the Nile although the 24 hour traffic will be a challenge for light-sleepers.

Stayed for one night while in Cairo visiting the pyramids and sphinx. Traffic in Cairo is terrible so schedule at least one hour from the airport to the hotel and another hour from the hotel to the pyramids. Metered (white) taxis from the airport are about 50 egyptian pounds vs. hotel pickup of 540 egyptian pounds. Save yourself the money and take a taxi.

Rooms were great, spacious and brand new. Bathrooms were large and had separate showers and bathtub. Gym was great and roofdeck pool looked good at sunset.

Would recommend this property for luxury and business travellers. Egypt is hurting for tourism, so book the Fairmont while it is cheap and get the pyramids to yourself!

Room Tip: All rooms are advertised as having nile views however some are only corner views from your room. Yo...

Just spent 2 nights at the Fairmont Nile City ,Cairo Lovely hotel, great location, beautiful beds and linens but the best thing was the fantastic staff. From contact at the airport hotel booth to the attentiveness of the staff, while staying at the hotel, THEY WERE THE BEST. Food at hotel was great, close to Starbucks, etc..Great place to relax and enjoy the last few days in Cairo

This hotel blew us away and was probably the best we stayed in during our trip. The lobby, bars, restaurants etc were decorated very lavishly and for the price we couldn't believe what luxury we found!
Our room was great (deluxe king, nile view), bed big, bathroom luxurious and the extras were just right. The service was great - checkin, room service, housekeeping and porters wonderful. We ate in the room both nights (we were only in Egypt for two nights and quite exhausted from the rest of our travelling) and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced compared to Europe where we had just been.
To top it all off when we arrived we had a little welcome cake in our room as it was our honeymoon.
Highly recommended, go for the deluxe room you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: We were on the 12th floor and you could still slightly hear the road noise, I would not recommend be...
