After reading through so many horror stories about Egypt, I am glad I chose Osiris because the staffs are friendly & most of all, the room is clean! (Probably because they dont allow you to eat in the room) Nabil is always at the lobby if you need any help & Josiane is a great cook, & don't forget to write down Maya's (Nadine's daughter) name in your own language if you come from a country with exotic language.

On the downside the tour that I booked with them to the Pyramids was not good; The guide is so lazy he jumped right back into the van after explaining everything to me using his own drawings & refuse to explain while we tour the sights together. (I expect more when I pay for a private guide) but I totally understand this is not Osiris's fault.

I stayed in the Osiris Hotel on the recommendation of a friend and was so delighted. If you put aside the liftless elevator door and the somewhat daunting building facade, you emerge onto the 12th floor into an oasis of tranquility in the midst of Cairo's mayhem.

The rooms are simple and immaculate, some with bathrooms, some shared (but usually only between 2 rooms). Gorgeous, large patios overlook the bustle of the city and you can get an even better panoramic view from the rooftop terrace. Breakfast is simple yet delicious and filling. Dinner used to be served in the evenings but I think due to the drop in tourism recently, its not always guaranteed so its worth checking in the morning. If its not being served, Nabil will happily recommend nearby local eateries.

The hotel is literally a stone's throw from Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum. The hotel can also organise an EXCELLENT day-long tour of the pyramids. For $100 (at time of booking) per person, you get your own guide and driver in a minibus with aircon and you visit Giza/Sphinx, Saqqura and Dashur. Lunch is included (except drinks) and it was wonderful. Nabil can also organise airport pickups and dropoffs.

Overall I would highly, highly recommend this hotel for staying in Cairo.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a balcony.

We were attracted by the reviews on TripAdvisor... and it is all true! This is the place to stay in Cairo. We had very clean rooms on the 12 floor, which we could reserve by calling directly the hotel at the last moment.

Nabil was extremely helpful with suggestions and in making the most of our two-day stay in Cairo. He found us a driver for a whole day (Giza, Old Cairo, Mosques near the Citadel and Islamic Cairo). A great experience!

We visited Cairo last December and had the pleasure of living at the Osiris Hotel. It is a nice clean place in the heart of Cairo, only ten minutes walk from Tahrir Square. The rooms and the hotel was very clean and with good amenities. If you are looking for a good clean place with a central location at a reaonable price, Osiris cannot be beat. This hotel was rated a Best Buy by Lonely Planet and we totally agree.

The owners and their family were very knowledgable and helpful with all aspects of Cairo and helped us organize trips (car, driver, guide) and taxis at reasonable prices and short notice. With their help, we felt confident to navigate the city, even though our Aarbic was limited to standard phrases. We recommend them unconditionally.

Thank you, Nabil, Josianne and Nadine for being such great hosts.

My husband and I and our 14 month old stayed here for four days and were very happy we did. It is in a great location to walk to the Egyptian museum as well as close to restaurants and Tahrir Square. The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. Loved the balcony and roof top patio overlooking Cairo.

We loved this hotel. Don't be put off by the scary elevator ride (no inside door, buttons poorly marked). Once you get to the hotel at the top of the office building it's a little oasis. Spotlessly clean, helpful, friendly staff. The hotel is in a good location. We walked to the art gallery, the markets and the main square. The rooftop deck had a fabulous view.

This is not a 'chain-style' hotel. So don't expect a TV and mini bar in characterless room.

The bathroom is similar to others we experienced in the Middle East, no shower curtain.

They organized airport pick up for us. Even though our flight was over an hour late due to a sandstorm the driver was waiting and he was friendly. Breakfast was great, served in a room with a view. On our last day our flight didn't leave until 11pm. The hotel stored our luggage and when we returned to pick it up we could, for a small fee, use the shower to freshen up before the flight. We also ordered dinner on our last night and it was delicious! We would definitely stay here again.

Says the price on trip advisor is 52$ this was not the case. We booked in advance a double bed and when we arrived they said to push two twin beds together for 80$. This did not sit well. The building is terrible and the owner was not nice at all. The rooms looked like a hostel. We asked them to phone the Canadian hostel down the street and they charged us 10EL for a 1 min call. We ended up finding many other choices that were much cheaper and way better quality closer to the square. Just cause it is the lonely planet pick does not make it worth staying there.
