Dont let your self be disapointed by the entrance of the old building, wich is very dusty and looks abandoned. Once you are in the third floor, feel like home. The place is no big deal, yeah it is clean and peaceful but what makes it unique is the way the owner treat you, trying allways to give you honest helpful tips, and receive you all the time with a cup of tea. The price is great.

I spent a week at Paris Hotel in Cairo. I don't know any other hotel there and I don't know why I should (except for curiosity of course) because it's a great place, run by great people. The quality/price ratio is extremely competitive, the rooms are clean, nice and calm. And the owners are wise and helpful.
I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone who wish to have a pleasant stay in Cairo.

Walid, the proprietor made my brief holiday in Egypt much better by suggesting and helping me organise a great itinerary - I hadn't done much research before I arrived. It all went smoothly and I got to see everything I wanted up and down the country. One possible hiccup when a car didn't arrive to take me to the airport was resolved really quickly by Walid organising a taxi. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. I'd read that the bathroom/shower system was a problem for some (cramped), but didn't find it a problem. More importantly it was clean and the water was hot! The location is excellent for the Cairo Museum, busy shopping streets, and local restaurants. Don't let the entrance put you off, it's dusty and old, but atmospheric! The Hotel is on the 3rd floor. Sitting in the reception area and drinking endless cups of Arabic coffee with Walid was fun.

A very good little hotel just a couple hundred meters from Tahrir square.

There is free internet and tea / coffee and there is an excellent takeaway serving authentic Egyptian fast food downstairs.

The lift does not always work and it is on the 3rd floor, so not the place for wheelchair access.

Pros:
Great location near museum, very friendly host, comfortable beds, heaters in rooms (needed for winter), nice colors, helpful with cab transport

Cons:
Bathroom is an all-in-one, i.e. shower equals everything in room is soaked, no lift and hotel is on the 4th floor, owner smokes in the lobby constantly, but with the windows usually open, it's not oppressive

Overall: Definitely a good place to stay

A family member recommended this place as they had stayed here previously. Times must be hard because we got ripped off. We asked for a twin room, got 3 beds and then got charged for the extra bed even though we didn't ask for it. The hotel advises that there is a lift and Internet facilities. There is a lift but it doesn't work and doesn't appear to have worked properly for a long time so carting your luggage up 4 flights of stairs isn't pleasant. Also, there is no internet so you have to go in search of an Internet café...Good luck finding one. What annoyed us most was that we got a knock on the door around 11pm from the concierge asking us to purchase alcohol on his behalf from the duty free shop downstairs. Don't ask favours from your guests then rip them off. Won't be staying here again.

Room Tip: Discuss price and view room before hand otherwise you will regret it!

This is superb clean and tidy accommodation with own WC with a good shower, free reliable wifi, breakfast, and a great host, Walid - what more could you ask for?

I left bags for Walid to keep while I travelled elsewhere and came back - without hesitation. There is no hassle staying in this hotel unlike in other places in Egypt.
