The Mena House restaurant was a wonderful oasis to our family during our visit to the pyramids in Giza. The driver had to circle around quite a bit to get there but it was worth it. Children loved the tawuk (chicken) shish kabobs, cheeseburger was fine but the turkey burger was not so great - adults really enjoyed the more traditional Egyptian dishes too! We sat where the pyramids were in view but the windows are busy so you had to be looking to notice them. All restaurant employees were kind to the children but thankfully that's not unusual in Egypt! I might feel uncomfortable in shorts or other typical American attire as it is a slightly fancier restaurant but for midday dining it was fairly much anything goes.
