One of the worst experience ever at this hotel..the hotel manager didn't allow us for early check-in despite vacant rooms and asked for $150 for 3 hours!!
We had to sit in the reception area for 3 hours. This hotel is situated around the most ugly part of Cairo and one sees only garbage around and foul smell in the area.
The hotel staff is greedy. Every worker in the hotel wants to mint money out of you and acts as a tout for taxi, local trips etc.
The room was shoddy and a very basic bathroom. No internet and the breakfast was just average.
This is more like a 2 star hotel but is highly overpriced.

tayed in a suite room which was clean, spacious and value for money. Nice view from room although balcony was useless for us as it was tiny and not safe for my toddler 8 floors up with a straight drop down and a noisy+busy road below. Service was fine as expected from a 3 star hotel. Pool was tiny and on top floor which was quite messy and looked like it needed refurbishment. Overall was pleased for the price of £70 per night for a suite but the location was not ideal as downtown was not close nor any decent restaurants etc

The Swiss Inn Nile Hotel is located in Giza. The hotel is nice, clean and a good value. It’s location on a main street between Cairo and Giza makes it a noisy location, though. There is nothing within walking distance to speak of.

A half block away the sidewalk is occupied by a herd of goats. Of course walking through the local neighborhood streets is always entertaining - and safe. The residents are really quite friendly. Finding a street bakery is always fun as well.

We enjoyed a meal on the top floor which has a commanding view of the Nile, and in the opposite direction, of the Giza pyramids. It also provides a great view of the neighborhood homes. You will see many with goats or chickens on the roofs!

There is a bar, coffee shop and lounge off of the lobby. Drinks, snacks and pastries are available here throughout the day.

The second floor restaurant provides an expansive, adequate breakfast buffet (included in the price of your room).

Internet (wireless) is available in the rooms at a $10 per day fee.

This hotel is a little out of the way, but the staff is very congenial and it is a good value.

This hotel is tough to review because its just so... unremarkable. Its not that it was bad, its more that it wasn't good. For the price you pay, its reasonable enough. Staff are average. You the guest are certainly not their priority, but thats probably less of a hotel specific criticism and more of a wider reaching one. Room service is ok, the breakfast buffet less than average, dinner is reasonable. The view of the pyramids is not what I had envisaged in my mind - they are more of a distant triangle. Location is okay, closer to the pyramids than many other hotels in Cairo. The pool on the roof looked quite nice. I personally believe the Lonely Planet write up on this place is far too flattering. Don't get excited about staying here, but for its price, it will do.

we had a bitter experience here, about 37 of us stayed here everyone had complaints, rooms were not upto the mark. Bath fittings were worn out. when we checked out two of our team members bag were opened and their belonging were taken away. we found that when the lift which was supposed to come down went up and after a few minutes it came down and when we saw the jerkins were taken off. so better be careful if u stay there.

We stayed at the Swiss Inn Hotel for two nights as the first stop on an Explore tour, as a base for visiting the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, both of which we really enjoyed.

Our first impression of the hotel was good: cool, clean lobby, with some scrumptious-looking cakes in the cafe area (which sadly we never got to try, although we did try the pastries at breakfast, which were delicious). Check-in was quick, and the hotel handled the transfer of baggage to our rooms. Our room itself was large, with a seating area and small balcony overlooking the street. But, wow, was that street noisy! Cairo roads are made for three lanes of traffic, but drivers completely disregarded the lane distinctions and drove five abreast, and instead of indicating they just used their horn. Luckily, a full programme of sightseeing ensured that we were tired enough to sleep anyway - that and a pair of earplugs!

Apart from the noise, the room could have been described as comfortable; however, it was let down for me by the cleanliness of the bathroom, as it was clear that the toilet had not been cleaned since it was used by the last occupant. And there was a prevailing smell of mould, which grew worse over the two days, until I was very happy to leave it behind.

The hotel was adequate as a base, although it was some was outside the centre of Cairo and 45 minutes away from the Giza Pyramids, and we were grateful for the transport provided as part of our tour. There were some plus points, the breakfast was good, but the hotel was let down by the smell in the room. For the most part our experience was ok, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer than the two nights we were there.
