Pyramisa is a large multi-story hotel in urban Giza but seems to be within the business district with not much dining or shopping within walking distance. Outdoor pool only, no internet. Restaurant overpriced but edible.

Rooms were unheated in winter which meant for shivering during the night. Lots of noise from the hallways all hours of the night, and smoke coming in under the doors during night even though in a non-smoking room. Bathroom was well equipped and relatively clean, however tile floors extremely cold in winter and lack of heating as mentioned earlier. Request for extra blankets and/or heat was never fulfilled.

No wifi available in rooms and one had to pay for internet access in the lobby or get a half hour voucher from the restaurant upon purchase of meal....however even with the voucher, the wifi never did actually connect.

Of interest was that the hotel appeared to be harboring injured protestors from the revolution as large groups of men with broken limbs in casts, eye patches and facial injuries were found in the lobby area 24 hours a day and appeared to be "living" there.

Also, with the political unrest within the last two years in Egypt, we found out that the tourism industry had declined to less than 1/4 of its earlier volume. As a result, a large part of the hotel was "shut down" and appeared mothballed.

stayed there for 3 days , 2 nights.
staff are friendly , free Wi-Fi in the lobby , Rooms are clean , average furniture seems a bit old.
beds are horrible , old hard mattresses . small TV in the room with limited channels (not an LCD).
bathrooms are very clean.
breakfast open buffet , pretty good variety to choose from (cereals, cheese ,hotdog...etc)
bottom line , can stay there for a business trip where most of the time you are out in meetings and need a place to crash in at night.

Stayed at this hotel for three weeks.enjoyed my stay though I did not enjoy my treatment from the hotel staff.all in all I would recommend anyone going to Cairo to try this hotel.the rooms are well maintained. There is not a variety of channels to tune into on the t.v,s in the rooms. The food was generally ok.

We stayed here for five nights and breakfast was included in our rate.

Our room, 230, didn't have much of a view, but that was OK as we didn't spend much time in there, other than sleeping. I found the mattress to be extremely firm but not so much that it resulted in back-ache. The pillows, however, didn't really suit me and I've got a bit of neck ache as a result.

The room was fairly basic but clean. There is air conditioning and a fairly large wardrobe. This particular room didn't have a safe, although all rooms are supposed to have safes. We quickly checked the TV just to see what it was like - reception/picture quality was very poor and the channels didn't match the list provided. Just as well we didn't want to watch any TV ;-).

The bathroom was well equipped and the shower strong and hot.

Breakfast was fairly comprehensive, from cooked (including made-to-order omelettes) to toast, pastries, cereals and cold meats. We didn't eat any other meals in the hotel although did have drinks from the Café - mostly to get Internet access ;-). That was initially provided through 30 minute access cards but the hotel later changed the settings so that a simple password provided unlimited access.

The main restaurant, where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner, is NOT a 24-hour restaurant as the web site implies. I think they mean to say it is open every day. That said, the hotel will organise food bags if you need something outside of the hours. As breakfast was included in our rate, for example, and we had a very early flight home, we had breakfast to go.

The stay are friendly and helpful.

All in all, not a bad place to stay.

My husband and me stayed here for three nights before we went to Alexandria. The location of hotel is good, near embassys and other well konown hotels, such as "Four Seasons" hotel. Near by is also Cairo zoo, wich is very interesting to visit if you have time. On the other side of river Nile is city center, only walking disatnce from this hotel. This is apart-hotel, so two of us stayed in apartment with two double rooms + leaving room and fully equipped kitchen, even we had breakfast included. Apartaments are huge and spacious. The food was very good. Egyptians are usualy very friendly, so the hotel staff were too and also very helpful and nice. I realy recommend this hotel as good value for money for short stay in Cairo.
