To me, the significance of this great complex of ancient KMT (Egypt) surpasses any annoyance you unfortunately will get from the aggressive touts. The energy is so high there. Make sure you take the opportunity to climb inside (extra fee). Lifetime experience!

“Thrilling to be inside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2014

We were able to go inside. I went to both the queen and king chambers, not the unfinished. Make sure you are wearing sneakers and long pants and are physically able to walk bent over for quite a distance.

“The second pyramid - The Pyramid of Chephren”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2014

Going straight ahead in direction toward the southwest of the Khufu Pyramid, after awhile, You get to the second large Pyramid, called the Pyramid of Khafre. It is also the second tallest pyramid and the tomb of the fourth-dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chefren).
In this case, the base lenght is about 216 metres and height is about 136.5 metres. Here we can perceive also, that structure is made of the limestone blocks, weighing more than 2 tons each.
If You regard more closely to the Pyramid, You may spot top of object, missing the outer layers of stone blocks. This Pyramid has the steeper edges and sides, of about 53 degrees, in comparison with the Kheops Pyramid.
As the important part of the Pyramid, it must be mentioned the Temple of Khafre and a Great Sphinx of Giza.
Here, some of us got in the interior of the Pyramid, through the really narrow passage. I also made some attempt, but due to excessive perspiration and quite a smelly and suffocating confined area, gave up after 50 metres of descent.
One more extraordinary egyptian experience.

This pyramid wasn't as packed & had some amazing photo opportunities. This pyramid is in very good condition & absolutely dominates the skyline of Giza. From a certain angle this pyramid seems larger as it's on higher ground. If you're in Sharm get yourself to Cairo it is totally worth it.
