Owner description: the pharaohs cruising restaurants Imagine going to a place a few miles from the center of Cairo, Egypt. Where Egypt's entire history and art comes alive! Such a place exists in the Pharaonic Boat, on Jacob Island in the Nile.

You have to visit this place at least once; you wont regret . Everything is well organized. You can see how pharaohs were living, working and eating.
We had a round inside their houses.
We had lunch (food is not so good) and took a 2 hours yacht cruise through central Cairo; it was also interesting

A vision to Reality …

Not all people have visions. Not all visions become reality. Not all realities continue to exist. This is what the Pharaonic Village is all about. Yes, it lacks technology, but what bothered me was that almost all actors were glum, others acted weird as if ashamed of their jobs.
Nevertheless, this is a project that has given employment to people. Now that’s vision with a mission.
The recorded voice played on the boat, the boatman’s stirring, the actor’s cues are all well synchronized. The papyrus, the river, the stage seemed maintained. A lovely College student was our tourguide, she has answered all my silly questions in English. Of course, there are many things to be improved. For those whose minds are overflowing with ideas on how to improve the business… do write them... at the moment, all I have is this --- actors should be smiling, should have eye contact with the tourists, let the actors sing, let them dance if they have to! Communicate with the tourists even in Arabic. Let the tourists feel they are Tourists with human interaction. It’s not a youtube tour. Human's expectations are insatiable, but Human interaction can cover expectations.

The papyrus methodology is the only good part, but the rest is a waste of time. Having poor actors trying to simulate the pharoes and pharaonic times is corny and badly acted as well. Sticking to just the basics, only showing the papyrus plant, how it is cut up and how the papyrus paper is made as a process and how the designg on it are made should have been good enough for this tour. So it is overpriced for what it offers.

This place was completely organized and interesting. The price was totally worth it. We didn't even see all there was to see. The gift shop had interesting souvenirs better than other things around the city.

A very nice place for young children to visit and learn of the rich history of Egypt in a fun, outdoorsy way. I think it is very good. Food quality not so good, yet a fun day it is to visit.
