The splendid location with the special views make the Terrace at the Cataract a popular spot and it is usually crowded at almost any time of day or evening. I have been a regular guest at the Cataract over the years and I prefer to have drinks in the bar or on the bar's own separate terrace or, alternatively, along the esplanade which also enjoys magnificent views but is less crowded and with more attentive service. On those occasions when I have dined on the Terrace I enjoyed good service, but found the menu rather limited and unvaried over a several days stay. The head bar tender in the bar and on the bar’s own terrace has been at the Cataract for many years and is always anxious to please. Whenever he is on duty, it couldn’t be more delightful to enjoy afternoon drinks on the bar’s terrace or within the bar itself later in the evening. He does his utmost to make you feel welcome and tend to your every need
