We stayed at the Nefertiti Hotel in Luxor for a couple of nights. I am presuming this is the same place, as it is a rooftop restaurant. At night, you have lovely views of Luxor Temple, which is lit up until 9 pm. At lunchtime you have views of the Nile, West Bank and Luxor Temple.

We ate here a few times and found the food to be good and not too expensive (E£100 for three people eating quite a selection of mezze and side dishes - as we are vegetarian). We had our 11 year old fussy eater with us and were able to find dishes for her.

At lunchtime the service was a little slow, as the waiter had to run up and down 4 floors, down the the kitchen on the ground floor.

On our final evening, we ate in the ground floor restaurant, which is in a beautifully decorated alleyway. Service was obviously much quicker here.

On our second evening, we ate in another restaurant not far away. The meal was a bit cheaper but was of poor quality in comparison with extremely poor service and a drunken waiter. Hence the reason for choosing to return here.

I have given a 3* rather than 4* for the slow service at lunch time and the cost being a little high compared to places such as GAD in Cairo. However, for the view, definitely come here.

The restaurant on the hotel roof with a magic view on Nile and west bank. A restaurant with large choixe. You can bring your own bottle of vine or bier as the restaurant does not sell alcool.

This is hidden so rather than asking for the restaurant by name, instruct your driver to the Neffertiti Hotel.

It is a rooftop restaurant and has the most amazing views of Luxor Temple. You do need to climb up maybe 6 flights of stairs but it is absolutely worth the work out.

There were interesting statements on the placemats and the payment box was so beautiful I just had to ask the waiter if we could buy it.

The portions are huge and present good value for money. All of the food is freshly cooked so can take a while to come out. But we found this was the case in most restaurants in Luxor.
