“Get away from the Hassle”
Reviewed 1 April 2013 via mobile

Situated in the middle of the Souk. Great to get a break from the busy souk. Fantastic view from the terrace. Varied menu, Egyptian and western food. Good with kids. Fair prices. Go sit in the open terrace to overlook the souk.

“Hotspot in middle of the souk”
Reviewed 11 January 2013

Loved the atmosphere in this great restaurant/bar overlooking the souk. The food was of a good standard with something for everyone. The real star though is Hamdi the owner, great fun full of banter and on our visits our personal shopper, as he sent out his runners to buy souveniers for us from the stalls as we sat up on the balcony soaking up the ambience from a safe distance, watching the bedlam unfold below.Brilliant.

“Great location, great food and always a warm welcome”
Reviewed 15 December 2012

When I worked in Luxor as a tour leader almost 10 years ago, the Jamboree was in a different location and was without doubt the best restaurant in the city, always busy, great atmosphere and the best food. Hamdy and Amer have had so many upheavals with first, the demolition of their beloved Jamboree in order to excavate the Avenue of Sphinx and then with the passing of the Arab Spring the tourists have still yet to return to Luxor despite their being no trouble there. I was therefore so impressed by these guys that in the face of adversity they have rebuilt the Jamboree, now in the bustling centre of the Souk and have taken the same care and attention to detail to make it as good as the last. The welcome you receive there and the good service and food is unchanged, I only hope both for hamdy and Amer and the people of Luxor, that people will start to return and bring the life back into this beautiful city.

“have been there 20 times over the past 10 years, still wish i could eat there every night.”
Reviewed 4 October 2012

I can't imagine seeing Jamboree as average, especially after Hamdy and his cousin bought it. Everything is fresh and there is a huge variety. I have been there alone and with a big group and the service was impeccable, the food wonderful and varied, decor lovely and they even have great desserts. I live in a city famous for its' great restaurants and none of them are better than
Jamboree. I guess the revolution has taken its' toll on tourism and I can only hope places like this survive!
