“Incredible experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2012

Wow, what a morning we will never forget! We were booked with this company through Love Egypt tours, and thought it was very professional and a well-run operation. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the boat which took us over to the West Bank with complemetary tea, coffee and biscuits. Having been apprehensive about taking a balloon ride, it was one of, if not THE best thing we did in Luxor. Seeing the sun come up from a balloon over the Valley of Kings and Queens was just unforgettable. The flight lasted nearly an hour. Our pilot was very competent and friendly, which was reassuring from the outset. The company made a DVD of before and after our flight which we didn't buy, but we received a certificate which was a nice touch. If you're in two minds, defeinitely do it, you won't regret it!

“Up UP and Away over Luxor.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2012

We drove through the West Bank of Luxor soon after 5am and arrived at the balloon site still dark. We could just make out the shapes of at least 6 balloons on their sides with big fans blowing air into the huge envelopes. Gradually they started to enlarge and rise, then with a loud roar a great flame blew into the large yellow balloon lighting up the whole area. All the other balloons were soon lit up and straining to get off the ground. We were tethered to a truck so were going nowhere, the basket held 16 of us and we all clambered in. We had a mix of all ages, my wife and I are 70 and 69 and steps were provided to get into the basket. Our Captain (Tarek) gave us a brief talk about safety and what to do when we landed, and we practised the landing drill (BRACE).The tethers were let go and we gently lifted into the air. The sky was beginning to lighten a bit and we could see the other ballons around us at different heights. It was a fantastic sight. The sun soon came up over the horizon and the Thebian hills were soon bathed in a golden light and we could easily see the Valley of the Kings and Deir El-Bahri. The Nile could be seen snaking through Luxor and into the distance. The Captain was pointing out all of the points of interest below us, we rose to about 1500 feet and had all the other balloons below us. Some balloons were going down to their recovery trucks but we just drifted along. We went by the Valley of The Workers then back over the green fields towards Luxor, dropping down to drift just a few feet over a sleepy village, with crops drying on the flat roofs competing with chickens and goats. We came down really gently into a narrow recently ploughed field, and very soon we were surrounded by loads of helpers who helped the balloon "hop" nearer to the village road where we got out and into the mini bus and back to our hotel. Thank you Tarek for an unforgettable and great balloon trip.

“Fantastic Balloon Flight Luxor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2012

I was a little nervous about going on a hot air balloon but was something that we’ve always wanted to do and glad we did as it was an amazing experience. We also took our two children 9yrs & 7yrs who thought it was awesome. We paid £40 each. There were 24 people in the basket and our pilot, Tarik, was very competent in what he was doing, and maintained full control of his ground crew, which was very reassuring. I felt safer in the balloon than I do in an aeroplane and we had a perfect landing. We saw many of the sites and monuments that we had seen the day before on foot, and the pilot pointed out all of these important sites to everyone as we moved along and turned the balloon around in the air so that everyone on the flight got the same opportunity to see the same views. The views were amazing and you could really see the comparison of the working land by the Nile and the desert. The staff were all very proffessional and we felt very safe from start to finish and would recommend this company - Dream Balloons.

“Hot Air Balloon in Luxor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2012

What an amazing way to start the day! After hearing a lot about the hot air ballooning in Luxor for many years I decided to give it a try. Actually I was with my 65 year old mother and she really wanted to do it so I felt I really should too! The rep that meet us (Hisham) was brilliant. We left the hotel at around 4.30am and was taken by boat over to the West Bank. He had tea and cakes on boat ready for us which was just what I needed to calm my nerves. At the field where the balloon departs from is part of the experience as you watch the balloon being prepared and then as it lifts up into the air we are helped into the basket. The captain (Tarek) was also great. Very experienced and was pointing out all of the sights below. Hisham came with us too and he was helping the captain but also talking with us. The ride itself is around 45 mins but the whold experience is around 3 hours. We were in the first lot of balloons to go that day so we got to see the sunrise which was amazing. Its also interesting to see the villages and workers below as we were landing. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Luxor.

We did this on our recent trip to Cairo and it was a really amazing experience. So beautiful and incredible, and very good value for the price. It felt totally safe (as safe as one can feel hovering hundreds of feet above the ground :)) and the captain and crew seemed quite experienced. Our one qualm was that the commute back to the hotel took forever.
