Dear 113susan from Scotland,

Thank you very much for having stayed at the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor recently and for taking the time to let the Tripadvisor community know about your impressions of our Resort.

I am happy to read that you had a great holiday at our Resort and that you enjoyed our food selection, especially the afternoon tea at the Relaxing Pool.

That your bed sheets have not been changed in one week on the other hand is rather a big concern to me, you should have mentioned it to me or our “guest relation” as long as you where in the Hotel. If you please could let me know (our e-mail can be found on our website, I am not allowed to publish it here) the room number you where in, so I can follow up with our house keeping department so the same mistake does not happen again with this particular room steward.
We do have a “water saving & conservation program” in place with a special card on the bed side table that can be put on the bed in the morning if a client whishes NOT to change the linen. Maybe something was misunderstood by our room steward.

We are looking forward welcoming you back home next November!

I remain with,
Sunny regards from unique Luxor

We stayed in this great hotel for the fifth time. This was our first visit since the renovations were completed. We loved it very much again! The renewals and refurbishments of the "old" bungalows turned out fabulous. Also the new area looks very good. But we prefer the old bungalows (for senimental reasons...). The general manager (mr. Umbricht), his staff and everybody working at Jolieville did their best again to make our stay as good as possible, and again they succeeded! The sevice was great and friendly as always. The food was better than ever. We enjoyed our dinners at the La Fleur restaurant very much. Even though Egypt, Luxor and this hotel have had a hard year because of the fallback in tourism, the management succeeded in keeping the hotel up and running and maintaining their high standards. Nobody should hesitate took book one or more weeks at this resort. Just go there... relax and enjoy! We'll be back this summer for another two weeks in what we call "our home in Egypt".

Just back from our second visit to this amazing hotel.

The hotel's renovations seem to be complete, and the grounds are stunning. The staff were excellent, the food and drink was great and we continue to rave about the pools, the location and the breakfasts - overlooking the Nile with the best and most varied selection of dishes I have ever come across!

The hotel was once again a perfect retreat after we visited more of Luxor's amazing sights. We fitted in more West Bank locations - particularly impressed with Howard Carter's House and the Ramesseum. We would also highly recommend the Karnak Light and Sound show (for a bit of OTT drama - especially if you have visited Karnak during daytime) and Luxor museum (beautifully designed and laid out).

It is extremely sad that visitors are staying away from Egypt at the moment - it was very quiet compared to last year and the result particularly in town, is more hassle than usual from Caleche drivers and shopkeepers. Still, it did not spoil our holiday.

The only minor niggle about the hotel was the Spa - which although beautifully designed in its new home could do with brushing up on a few Spa basics (bright lights and pop music in the treatment rooms!), and I had a rather poor mani/pedicure which disintigrated after just a few hours.

Still - have to thank the Maritim for another fab holiday. We will be back hopefully next year, this time perhaps with the kids too - the Zoo, kids club and pool and the resident camel will be just perfect distractions!

Dear Templeland from Scotland,

Thank you very much for choosing once again the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor for your relaxing holidays in Upper Egypt, and as the home base for your “historic excursions into the past”!

It is great to read that you truly have enjoyed your stay and that you were entirely satisfied with, kitchen, service, pools, rooms and location. Breakfast on our “Sharazade Terrace” on Sunday morning….. one of my personal favorites too.

As the anniversary of the Egypt Revolution on the 25th Jan has past quietly and with peace & joyful celebrations (unfortunately not shown on TV in Europe, it seems blood sell’s better than flowers!) we truly hope that tourism will pick up again. Thanks to all the visitors who have come to Egypt during the past 12 months. You have supported the country more than any Politician in Europe!

Wishing you an excellent 2012, the Jolie Team is looking forward to welcome you back on Kings Island your home in Luxor in the near future.

This was our second visit, the first time was in January 2011 and we enjoyed it so much that we went back this year. The staff are friendly and certiuos, well trained and hard working. You are treated like a King at this Hotel, nothing is too much. The rooms are beautifully comfortable and the facilities are impeccable. So much to do and also if you feel like doing nothing there are 3 different pools, sauna, staem room, massages, and a gym and many restaurants to enjoy the guaranteed sunshine and warm weather every day. The food is plenty and all safe and delicious. The General Manager and his team are visibale all the time making sure all the guests are well looked after. We will defiinateltly go back. This Hotel is situated right by the Nile with amazing views and perfectly safe for tourists, you are so close to the Temples, the Tombs and the museums which makes this a perfect holiday to explore Egyot and relax at the same time.

Dear Frenchst from Epsom,

Thank you very much for having stayed at the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor for the 2nd time and for sharing your personal experience with the international Tripadvisor community.

A famous Hotelier, called Mr. Ritz once said:”Every guest shall be treated like a King ... as long as he/she behaves like one!” At the Jolie Ville Kings Island we are so fortunate not only to have an enormous amount of repeat clientele all year round, but almost all of them have become dear friends over the years / visits and tread our staff not like servants but like friends!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has sent their comments about our Hotel to Tripadvisor over the past year and like this have elected the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island among the TOP 25 Hotels in Egypt in 4 different categories!

This obviously is extremely motivating and a great encouragement for the entire team and we promise to do our utmost to exceed expectations, improve services and enhance the offers in the hotel in the future for the wellbeing and comfort of our esteemed and unique clientele.

The entire Jolie Ville Team wishes you all the very best and truly hopes to be able to welcome you back home on Kings Island for the 3rd time in the not so far future.

We absolutely can't say enough great things about this resort. Nestled away from the hustle of Luxor, but with easy commute (by boat if you like!) to the sights. The rooms are amazing, the food is amazing, the pools are amazing. Amazing is the only word to really describe it all. Family-friendly. Awesome spa. Awesome staff. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our kids loved the pool, the kids playground and the zoo. I loved the jogging trail. Sunset over the Nile River is breathtaking. None of the other hotels in the area can even compare to this resort!

Room Tip: Request adjoining rooms if you have a large family. And ask to be near the pool/playground if your...

King Island Jolie Ville (Luxor)

This resort sports large, lovely grounds that are well-groomed and pleasant. Covered walkways and well-lit paths allow enjoyable walking around the island day and night (the nights in January can get really chilly so bring a warm coat). The wall along the Nile is especially beautiful with towering Eucalyptus trees and views of the passing Nile cruise boats.

The main building provides a grand meeting space that includes reception, lounge areas, a small arcade with shops, and a business centre. The accommodation comprises bungalow-style pods with roughly 16 rooms per pod. There are three main pool areas and a number of other amenities.

The food was plentiful and tasty, though the buffets can get a bit repetitive. The dinner buffets change themes depending on the night. There was one a la carte restaurant open when I was there, but I didn’t really think the food was exceptional. For people staying for at least three nights, I’d advise buying the three-coupon deal for 375 EGP (~62 USD), which allows you to dine for 3 nights at the buffet, or 2 nights at the buffet and one night at the a la carte restaurant. For some reason, you always pay extra for drinks (even water). This peculiar practice applies throughout Egypt and is perhaps a by-product of the heavy influence of European visitors here.

Other notable features include a mini-zoo where you can meet Ramses the camel, extensive use of the grounds where the hotel grows its own vegetables and flowers, and a complimentary bird-watching booklet.

I also treated myself to one of the many spa treatments on offer. I really lucked out by getting a masseur named Abdullah, who was one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet. I don’t get many opportunities to have a professional massage, and so these treatments always make me a bit nervous. But Abdullah made me feel very much at ease, and I highly recommend him to any guy wanting to try a spa treatment. Abdullah told me that he is trained in 27 massage techniques, so there is something for everyone.

My stay at King Island Jolie Ville was very relaxing. However, it coincided with an unusually low tourist turnout, so when the tourist trade picks up again, this place may not be as peaceful as I experienced. Overall, King Island offers a beautiful oasis where you can unwind and indulge yourself. Ciao.

Dear Roaming Rowan from Vancouver Island,

Thank you very much for your visit at the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor and for having taken the time to write your views and opinion on Tripadvisor.

I am happy to learn that you have enjoyed your short stay on Kings Island and that generally you approve on our services and food offer at the Hotel.
Regarding the extra payment for drinks during meals which you find a bit unusual, I don’t really know if in Canada drinks are free with meals? Maybe it’s a European thing but it seems very normal as every client has a different taste and needs, some like just water others a glass of wine with their meal. Even if drinks are included in a meal, the costs for such are in calculate inside the final price, hence the client pays it in any way.

Your praise on our Spa treatments and services and Abdullah in particular are well received and appreciated. I will gladly let Abdullah know.

With 660’000 square meters of total hotel grounds and 650 rooms (1000 per room!) there will always be plenty of space for every guest even the hotel will be full one fine day in the future “Insha Allah”!

Thanking you very much once again for having chosen our Resort to be your home in Luxor, we hope to be able to welcome you back on Kings Island in the near future.

Sunny regards from unique Luxor
