This was our 5th visit to Kings Island and as always the hotel delivered 110%. The rooms, staff and grounds were all looking amazing as always ans we were spoilt from arrival until we departed. We booked via Thomas Cook as this seems to be one of the only ways you can get to Kings Island at the mo as Thomsons have stopped using the hotel. Be careful if you are a regular here as Thomsons are telling its customers that this is due to guest feedback when in fact they are not using the hotel as their request to heve their room rates lowered was refused by the hotel. They do however still use the Jolie Ville for their most premium range so its obvious that the hotel guests feedback is not in question, as a result of this Thomsons last year almost ruined our holiday 1 week before we were due to fly so this year we took the safe option of Thomas Cook. The hotel ( along with the rest of Luxor ) is suffering with low occupancy at the moment due to one main fundamental reason - no-one from the UK can get a flight out there. At this time last year there were over 15 flights a week coming from a variety of UK airports and now there are only 2 - Manchester and Gatwick. My advice to all the regulars out there is to book a flight to Cairo and then an internal down to Luxor as 3 tour operators at least are using Thomson flights to fly their guests out ( Cosmos, Thomas Cook and at least 2 others ) so there is a distinct lack of english tourists being able to get there. We have been visiting Luxor for 10 years and will continue to do so and will always use the Jolie Ville - I just hope in the mean time that more flights are put on to feed the demand from the UK market. We will continue if needed to book the hotel directly and seek our own flights as you really cannot fault the people of Luxor or any aspect of the beautiful Jolie Ville Kings Island. A special thanks to Amena ( Guest Relations ) and Ashraf at the Infinity pool terrace restaurant for looking after us so well. Our trusty local cabbie of 10 years also deserves a mention and if anyone going out there is in need of a reliable trusted taxi driver then message me for his number - he will look after you with the utmost of professionalism and take you in safety anywhere you want to go and advise you of any places you must see to enjoy your time there. Thank you to all at the Jolie Ville once again and see you all in March - Jan, Stefan and Andy.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Nestled upon the private "Kings Island" in the Nile that covers 660,000 sqm, the resort truly is an oasis of peace and tranquility. The idyllic, landscaped hotel grounds are expansive and home to the two main buildings, bungalows and three enticing swimming pool areas. The historic sights of Luxor, located only 4 kilometres from the hotel, can be easily reached by complimentary shuttle buses. The island is connected to the mainland only by a bridge and is virtually free of charge. This makes the resort an ideal location for families with children.
