Just back from a holiday of 13 days at the Maritim Jolie Ville Luxor. We were delighted with the most beautiful setting at the border of the Nile in a magnificent garden.

We advise to book a superior de luxe room in the new pavillons : big, sunny terrace and a splendid Nile view.

All staff members are very helpful and most friendly. The maintenance of all the buildings and the gardens is perfect. The hygiene outstanding.

Breakfast warm and cold buffet is very complete, you can take it on the terrace of the restaurant, with fresh baked breads in a stone oven.

The evening buffet is very tasty, hot, and well prepared, although not too luxurious for a 5 stars resort.
The prices for the wines are reasonable, you can taste a correct bottle of wine for about 21 Euro.

A few small positive suggestions : we missed a shoe shine cloth and a sewing kit in the room, and the WI FI connection is very instable.

What a pity that tourists stay away, the hotel has only a 20 % occupation at this moment. THERE IS'NT ANY POLITICAL PROBLEM IN LUXOR, and so much to visit! Not only the classical tourist destinations, but don't miss The Temple of Habou, The Valley of the Artists and Artisans, and the Valley of the Nobles.

We booked a reliable guide Dr. KHALED HELMY, inspector of Egyptology, and his
driver Mohamed. You can meet Khaled at the temple of Karnak, where he is director of the Visitors Center. Their prices are very reasonable, their guidance is more complete, relaxing and less expensive than the organized guided tours.
It is a way of supporting the Egyptian people. They are going through a really difficult time.

Take care for the kalesj drivers, they are the worst in demanding a word you will never forget in Egypt : "bakshish" : tip.

Room Tip: A de luxe superior room with a sunny terrace and Nile view in the new pavillions.

Dear Ritje from Leuven in Belgium,

Thank you very much for having spent a 2 weeks holiday at the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor this January and for having taken the time to write a utmost positive report on Tripadvisor.

Thank you for your kind compliments about our Resort the location & views’, the rooms, the cleaning, the service and the food variety in our various Restaurants and Bars.

Sewing kits can be requested from the housekeeping department if needed and our in-house tailor would be happy fix any defect on your clothes for you. Shoeshine amenities are not available because we have a Mr. Gamal our “Shoeshine Men” sitting in front of the Lobby. Shoeshine by a “specialist” has a kind of tradition in many countries in Africa and the Middle East and Mr. Gamal has become an institution in our Hotel over the past 31 years. PS he does also very good but utmost affordable shoe repair.

I am sorry for the unstable WIFI connection; unfortunately this can’t be done any better due to lack of hard ware (no optical fiber class cable to the main servers in town). It will take some time until we can provide “Western” standards in this part of the world.

Thank you very much for mentioning how safe it is to travel to Luxor and that travelers should not be worried about the misleading pictures shown in the ww New’s, these are taken in Cairo and recently in Suez & Ishmailia which are not tourist centre at all.

Ever since the revolution in Cairo some two years ago, tourism is down Luxor & Aswan despite neither problems nor violence has ever occurred in these two towns in Upper Egypt. The tourism industry, which is employing 1000ends of Egyptians is very much fighting for survival these days.

Thank you once again for being such a nice ambassador for Luxor, we are looking very much forward to welcome you again in the not so far future on your little island in the Nile!

I remain with,
Sunny regards from unique & antique Luxor

Just returned from our second visit to Jolie Ville. We went as a group of family and friends originally for 3 nights but were able to extend to 6 nights as some of the group work and can only commit after 3 days on a daily basis. We are lucky as we are now retired.
Reception staff were very good and the General Manager takes time to speakto his guests. Well done the chefs for such a varied menu throughout the week and to all thewaiters for their friendliness and attention. Our houseboy Mustafa Ibrahim was a gem. We did eat in the Italian restuarant one evening and this was my only disappointment of the whole week although the others enjoyed their meals. I also on a first visitto an Italian order the lasagne as people will see from our other reviews but I would suggest they do not try it here unless the Chef has rechecked how to make it. The pasta was tough and chewy and there was a sad lack of meat.
However we are already planning our next break to Jolie Ville which will be during the year and now that we are living in Egypt it will be more often. Thanks for our stay and looking for to the next time.

Dear Robert and Paula from Bournemouth UK,

Many thanks for having visited the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor for the second time and for bringing your family with you this time. Thank you as well for having taken the time to support us with your kind report on Tripadvisor.

I am very happy to read that you have enjoyed the few days in our Resort and that you enjoyed the services, attentiveness, response and availability of our team.

I am truly sorry for the “Lasagna Disappointment” in our Zigolini Restaurant and will ask our Executive Chef today to check the receipt and have a test run started to improve that particular dish without delay. Thanks for letting me know, indeed I haven’t tasted the lasagna in quite a while.

We are all looking very much forward to welcome you back home on Kings Island more often, especially as you are only living a stone throw away in Hurghada! The first lasagna will be on the house!

We went for a week after Christmas Day and had a lovely break at this hotel. It is 3km from the centre of Luxor. We went with my Mother and our 6year old daughter. We had all our evening meals in the restaurant and the buffet was excellent. No worries about eating the salads and good choice. The staff are very friendly. We met people who go every year. The temperature is good for tours and I understand it really never rains

Great choice for us as a family. 2 adjoining bungalows. Plenty to do and see in and around the resort. Valley of the Kings,, Luxor and Karnak Temples all close by. Took a day trip to the Red Sea as well. A long trip but worthwhile. Great staff , food and accommodation. Infinity pool sits right on the Nile! Stunning views!

Dear Ken P187 from Kilcullen Ireland,

Thank you very much for having selected the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor to be your base during your resent holiday in Upper Egypt and for having taken the time to write to Tripadvisor.

We are utmost happy to read that you have enjoyed a pleasant and interesting holiday together with your family at our Resort with plenty to do and see and that you where pleased with the variety and quality of meals and the service of our team members.

I would like to use this opportunity to let everybody know that despite the todays New’s are talking of countrywide unrests and violence in Egypt during “Revolution Day 25th of Jan”, Luxor has been as quiet and peaceful as ever and there is no better time to visit our great destination then now, great weather, space around the hotel pools, empty sites, plenty of space to take great pictures in and around the temples and sites and friendly people welcoming you.

If you think the politicians are only talking, take action yourself and help Egypt by traveling to this wonderful and spectacular country where it all begun ……!

Thank you again for your kind write up, we are looking very much forward to welcome you again, hopefully in the not so far future.

My parents have been here several times and took my family and I in October 2012. I can fully understand why they keep going back.

We had three kids and they loved the pools. Watching the cruise ships sail past with a setting sun and the Valley of the Kings in the background whilst relaxing in the pool ... well, it's a memory to last a lifetime.

The staff and all of the restaurants are top class. Indeed, the Italian restaurant served some of the best Italian dishes I have tasted. Breakfast especially is a feast to enjoy and make sure you try the eggs.

Our first trip to Egypt had everything ... ultimate chillaxing, world class trips, the craziness of Luxor and so on. There are many places on this planet I've still to visit however, my kids still talk about their holiday at the Jolie Vile and I'm sure we'll return at some point.

Dear Webbster77 from Barnstable UK,

Thank you very much for having spent your October 2012 family holiday at our Resort and for publishing your comments on Tripadvisor.

I am very happy to read, you and your family enjoyed the stay at the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island and that we have become somehow your “family hotel”. Indeed our Resort is just built for families with children, all on flat grounds and on an island, children hardly can fall down somewhere and can’t disappear as we control all ins and outs over our bridge.

The entire Jolie Ville Team is thanking you for your visit and we are already looking forward to welcome you back home for your next Luxor holiday!

I remain with,
Sunny regards from unique & spectacular Luxor and give my best to your kids!

We visited in January 2013 - having been to Egypt many times we were not put off by political upheavels of late, and I would urge others to enjoy the delights of Egypt. While there is some tension here and there, the overwhleming feeling you get is one of welcome!

We have stayed at the Maritim Jolie Ville before, and we hope to visit again this year. It is simply one of the best places to stay in Luxor. Quiet, tranquil, nicely arranged, and excellent, helpful staff. We stayed in bungalow A1, one of teh older ones which has been refubished in the last two years. We have stayed in this room before and it was excellent. Last time I complained that the work wasn't finished and the shower door/curtain wastn't fitted - this had now been done.

Rooms are comfortable, with a choice of pillows, the all important tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen tv, reading lights next to the bed, and bathroom amenities, including robe and slippers. We also got a free fruit bowl, but I dont know if that was because we were repeat customers. Outides your room is a sun lounger and chairs/table.

The grounds are stunning, like a botanical garden. You could easily spend your holiday just wandering around looking at the plants and the stunning views of the Nile, not to mention the large variety of birds.

There are new deluxe rooms, a new pool and pool cafe, and a great new fully equiped gym, spa and salon. There are a few shops and a bank machine/bank if you need anything.

The food is excellent - the buffet is always changing, there are great omlettes or eggs cooked to order at breakfast, and numerous choices from fruit and yogurt to a variety of cereals, croissants, and pastries. La Fleur restaurant offers French/European cuisine of a standard you would expect in Europe or London; there is also Zigolini italian which is also very good, not to mention various places to get a drink or a snack near the pools or in the evening. The only thing I didn't like was smoking in the Ascot Bar.

While you are away from the noise and dust of central Luxor, a shuttle bus will take you there in 5-10 minutes maximum, and all the sights are easily accessible.

The staff a truly wonderful, and all in all there is really nothing I can say against this place - it has become our special place to escape to. Once you find a place like that, why would you go anywhere else?

I love Eternal Egypt and the place I will always stay in Luxor from now on is the Jolie Ville!

Room Tip: You can buy a meal deal when you get there - 5 evening meals for 89 euros; which is usually cheaper...

Dear Tarajs from London UK,

Thank you very much for having returned once again to the Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island Luxor and for having taken the time to write another supporting and positive review on Tripadvisor. Yes, “repeat clients” after the 4th visit do get a few extra attentions as a little thank you for the fidelity.

Thank you as well for being such a great ambassador for Egypt, Luxor and our Resort! I fully agree with you, that NOW is the time for a visit, best offers with Travel Companies and NO tourists at the sites for a free view and photographs of a live time!

The entire Jolie Ville Team sends their regards and we all hope to be able to welcome you back home on Kings Island very soon.
