The hotel is perfectly set on the Nile River and a short walk from town. Well appointed rooms, we stayed in the newly refurbished bungalows. Housekeeping was very effecient and even though we slept-in, our room was always made up without request. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a variety of fruits, breads, meats, cheeses and of course an omelet station. Internet is available in the lobby. The pool areas are beautiful, there are two, one located within the bungalow area, the other adjacent to the Nile River. The pool staff was very attentive.
For entertainment, there is a nightclub that offers nightly entertaiment, a singer and DJ. I must note that the Bar Manager, Tarek was extremely hospitable. He, along with the DJ, Mohammed made our last night quite memorable, singing and dancing all night long. They truly knew how to make the guests feel welcome!
There are tour operators in town as well as in front of the hotel. Comparison shop to establish a price point. We ended up using the one in front of the hotel, negotiate and re-negotiate everything!
Valley of the Kings is a must. Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple tour after 3pm to appreciate the beauty of it at night.
As seasoned travelers it's always a pleasure to experience the unexpected! The beauty of Eygypt and its people will captivate you!

This Sheraton is beautiful and right on the Nile. Great location. A little bit of a hike to get to the heart of Luxor and the corniche, but not too far. The rooms are clean and beautiful, although half face the Nile and half have a non-interesting view of the back of the hotel. The reception desk staff needs training on customer service - they were rude at best, and not interested in helping at worst. The free internet is great.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days this trip. I stayed on a Starwood voucher and was more than pleased with everything. Summer a year ago I stayed here and was up-graded to the Presidential suite on a voucher. That room was unbelievable. But this year I arrived during high season and had to "settle" for a Nile view. Remodeling is now complete from the summer before. Rooms are very nice. Lots of marble and well maintained. The restaurant served excellent food with a view of the pool and Nile. I have used the rental car agency at this hotel for both trips and their cars and drivers are very good and priced well.

Stayed in Oct 2010 for a week with hubby & teenage daughter-fantastic!!
We were allocated a newly refurbished bungalow-in pristine condition, bedding, decor, bathroom facilities all 100+%. Well big enough for 3 of us! Fab base to see all the sights in Luxor too.
Hotel staff are completely customer focused-service is excellent! We stayed B&B as there are so many fantastic places to eat within a 10-15 min walk. Loads of choice on the breakfast menu though, food is always fresh-staff always available to help you & glad to do so.
Food in the Indian restaurant in the hotel is fabtastic but a little more pricey than outside eating which we did not mind-as is the alcohol, not complaining though, only to be expected in a 5* hotel.
Ahmed the poolman a complete diamond-lovely, lovely bloke-always delighted to help!!
Really looking forward to going back-booked already for April 2011.
Staff A1, food A1, accomodation A1-all perfect, thanks to all at the Sheraton-see you in April!!
