5 star all round, amazing staff, views amazing, room lovely and spotless. Pool area and swim up bar so clean and lovely, roomy area with sunbeds, never felt crowded. Cannot find a single fault with the place. Couple on balcony next door were there for their 31st visit and I can't say I blame them!!

Traveled with a group of people... young and older. Hotel was very nice, pulling up, the lobby was a nice welcome. The rooms were fun, nice and comfortable, beds were comfortable!! (I am obsessed with bedding). The bathroom was the best part though, controls for the toilet and the shower were slightly confusing but fun! very high tech. the toilet seats had WARMERS on them! I only stayed for a few nights, but after I left, I definitely missed those toilet seats! (Very strange, I know). the outside area is nice, there is a pool, with a swim up bar which is always fun. able to get service pool side. good drink list. there is also hookah that you can get, which was a lot of fun. The pool area overlooks the Nile, which is really nice. Dinner was eaten outside by the pool, and was very good, but service was SLOW. its vacation, so who cares, right? Still, would have liked to at least gotten drinks a little faster. Breakfast was eaten in the buffet, was always in a rush on the way to a tour, but had all the staples you would expect to see.. You are not going hungry! Good location for things, on a busy road, not hard to get a cab if you want to go out somewhere.. keep in mind if you are young and like to drink, it is nothing like America, and I believe at one point we were talking about going to a club, but every girl had to be accompanied by a male... We also ate out one night at a restaurant that supposedly got good reviews, and they did not serve alcohol there.. apparently this is common in Luxor..

In the heart of Luxor, right on the Nile. The Executive Floors 6, 7, and 8 are newly renovated and pretty incredible. Flat screen TV's, Crazy toilet and shower. The shower is worth the price of admission.

The pizza restaurant on the primary floor has really good food.

The Spa provides great services. George is the marketing director, and Taleaf is an outstanding masseur. Used his services three our four times, and he was pretty wonderful.

The beds in these room is pretty soft and relaxing.

Had booked into Steigenberger Nile Palace as part of a cruise/Cairo/Luxor package. Made a swift exit thanks to Thomson reps and relocated to this fabulous hotel. Immaculately clean throughout. The most helpful, friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. Due to our "bad experience" at the NP, we were given a Nile view room which was spotless. Only ate breakfast here which was wonderful, but heard great reports about the restaurants. Pool area almost deserted during the day but loads of sunbeds and shades. Cannot find any fault. Met many guests who have returned here 20+ times and can see why.

As hotels in Luxor go I would say that you can't better the Sonesta St George,- unless your one of the fortunates that can afford the Winter Palace - Sure some hotels might have a bigger pool or grander gardens to sit in. But overall this hotel has everything that you could require with some style too. Worthy of a special mention are the staff in general , especially the pool waiters and pool attendants, Nobel's bar waiters, room servicing staff and restaurant staff. Reception staff could do with the same training as the rest of the staff, but even they are not too bad- just smile occassionally !
The food in this hotel cannot be faulted, anyone who does must be used to eating Michelin rated meals is all I can say.

Some things are a little pricey for Egypt , such as drinks and Internet use. But this is a 5 star hotel what do you expect ? If its a problem go to any of the local bars or Internet Cafe's within a short walk of the front door.
Location is great with all sights and amenities in taxi or walking distance.

100% would recommend this hotel and would be back like a shot.

My boyfriend and I are traveling to Egypt in May and were anxious to book on the St. George. After multiple calls to the Sonesta reservations center we were informed that the cruise we wanted, on the dates we wanted (Aswan to Luxor departing on May 26) was available. We heard from other reliable sources that the boat did not sail on that itinerary on those dates but chose to believe Sonesta, with whom we were booking as they operate the ship. Not until we were booked and paid did we receive an email from Sonesta saying the ship was sailing on different dates. Sonesta staff needs to have MUCH better knowledge of what their boats are doing and when. It would have been a disaster for us in terms of our flights being booked if we were not able to make other arrangements to sail on a Movenpick Nile Cruise!

We spent one night here before our Nile River cruise. The hotel is situated right on the Nile. It is beautifully designed with cream and green marble in the public areas. The design looks very Arabic and exotic. The sixth and seventh floors have recently be rennovated and our room was 622. The room was clean and lovely in its decor with unexpected design elements. The bed was comfortable. But the real surprise was the bathroom! It included an electronic toilet and shower/tub combo that you would find on a spaceship! The toilet had a heated seat, built in bidet and rear-end washer plus dryer! It flushed automatically. The shower/tub had disco lights, radio, sauna, jacuzzi, rain shower and side sprays. Unfortunately, not all of the gizmos worked. Many of our fellow passengers had difficult figuring out the controls. Although it was neat, it seemed like a waste for a one-night stay. The breakfast buffet was good as was service. I wish we could have spent a few more nights there.
