Staying here for 2 weeks at the beginning of September, with my sister We have always stayed out at Karnak on our previous visit. This hotel is completely different. We wanted to be more in the centre of town so we explore more. The hotel did not disappoint us, although it did seem strange having carpet instead of tiles, but this was thoroughly cleaned each day, as was the room and sheets at least alternate days. Housekeeping people could not do enough for us, we asked about an iron, sure enough 15 mins later one was delivered followed by an ironing board the following day. The lst room we had was overlooking the courtyard and as have been said earlier with the heat being as it is this time year, opening the door didnt do much for letting air in, but is was very good for people watching while enjoying a little 'drop'. We did ask to be moved as the building work in the morning was annoying and we did have a problem with a light switch. We were moved to a nile/w. bank view which was nice for the 2nd week. The 3 times we ate in the hotel, the food was very nice but again the courtyard was very hot. The pool was lst rate and we spent every afternoon there either in or alongside thepool. The lads looking after the pool were great. They remembered where yoiu prefered to sit and laid out the towels for us, and put the umbrellas up. As Bamboos has commented, the smell of the diesel from the big boats docked up, was annoying and perhaps can be addressed at some future date.
Reception were always really helpful and as far as we knew always manned.
If I could make 2 suggestions tho, those rooms that have facing rooms would benefit from having some sort of net curtaining, as when changing /getting dressed etc. you have to draw curtains and put lights on.
also although the Bank man is very nice and curtious, I would have preferred that when doing my transactions, that it was only me in the room, not a group of strangers, sitting on the settee.
All in all we both enjoyed staying at the hotel, all were polite and pleasant at all times and I would recommend it to any who ask.

It was really nice to receive your review.
We are delighted that you had such a fabulous two week stay with us and appreciated the fantastic views of the picturesque Nile on your second week. Reading your lovely comments it seems as though you had an enjoyable and memorable stay with us. Thank you for you kind comments regarding our swimming pool staff, I am certain that your positive opinions will be more than appreciated.
We apologize about the cruise boats, if they were a problem for you. As you rightly mention, we are trying our best to resolve this issue. Also, your negative comment regarding the banking facilities in the hotel. We are sorry that you found the surroundings to be impersonal and we will immediately look into this issue so that all our future guests feel at ease and comfortable when using this facility. Can we also kindly explain that if we had been made aware of the faulty light switch, then we would have rectified this immediately for you.
We welcome you back at any time and thank you once again for recommending our beautiful hotel!

Best regards

from the moment you enter the hotel you are greeted with politeness and smiles. everyone was friendly and couldn't do enough for you from the minute you walk in the door to a welcome drink of hisbiscus tea (karkade) to the minute you leave. the bedrooms were spacious and were spotlessly cleaned everyday. although me and my family were unwell because of the heat we got a phone call everyday to check how we were feeling and to see if there was anything they could do for you, they even went to the pharmacy to get some tablets for us to take. the nubian restaurant cooked lovely tasty food, the puddings we to die for and if you didn't like what was on the menu they were only to willing to cook something different for you. an excellent holiday and i am definitely going back again.

We were here during revolution and got great deal from the hotel. The hotel and it's services are awesome. It's close to many restaurants and stores. It's good that way because food inside the hotel were pricy. Our room was facing the pool and got good view.

It was a pleasure to read your positive feedback regarding our hotel and also interesting to receive a review from guests who stayed with us during the revolution back in January/February of this year.
Since the time of your visit to Luxor we have experienced a very difficult year. Despite the political issues and financial hardship, we have always maintained our excellent standards within the hotel, ensuring that all guests are given outstanding service. May we thank you for your review and invite you to stay with us again in our ‘awesome’ hotel!!

The minute you get off the coach and into the lobby of the hotel you are greeted with a cool towel and a cool refereshing alcohol free drink, the reception is quick, calm and hassle free you are escorted to your room (we had booked a nile view and boy did we get one) its a little extra but make sure you do and also ask for a upper floor room that way you can see across the nile to the monastry temple on the west bank.
The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean the staff were friendly and approachable for any problems you may have, we had none.
the lads around the pool always had a smile for everyone and they looked after everyones needs be they male or female and be they young or old.
We could not find anything wrong with the hotel and its staff and we have stayed all over the world.
keep up the good work folks and the crowds will come back (honest).
special mention for the thai restaurant unbeliveable quality food

Room Tip: nile view for the view and its quite at night the internal rooms overlook the floor show

Stayed at the Steigenberger Nile Palace for a week in Sept. The hotel is beautiful we upgraded to a nile view and the room was very big with a balcony overlooking the Nile a large bathroom and a dressing room. We had Tea and buscuits every day and fresh towels twice a day and turndown service in the evening. The pool was very clean and as there was very few guests we had our choice of sun loungers. We ate breakfast in the hotel it was very tasty and every thing is clean and fresh. We ate at the poolside for lunch it was fine and also in the Italian which we found to be overrated the food was bland and average. We ate in the Thai resturant there was only one other person in it so not busy the food and the fusion of flavours was fantastic if you can visit the Thai for a dining experience.

Room Tip: Front facing nile view rooms are wonderful.

Thank you for your fabulous comments. It appears that you experienced a memorable stay with us during September and we are very happy that you enjoyed your fantastic Nile view accommodation.
However, we take your comment seriously regarding the food in the Italian restaurant and we apologize if you found the menu there to be ‘overrated, average and bland’. We will take your opinion into account and assess if we can improve any possible way.
We like to ensure that all our guests are satisfied 100% and it would have been helpful to know about your opinion of the Italian restaurant before you departed, we would have certainly ensured that you were absolutely satisfied prior to your departure.
We hope that you will spend another holiday with us in the future and invite you to return at anytime.

When we pulled up at the front of the hotel we were horrified as it looked absolutely nothing, just dull and dusty, but when we walked through the doors it just hit us as something completely different. We arrived on my husbands 60th birthday and were instantly greeted by a host of staff who couldn't do enough for us. We were upgraded to a much larger room than we had booked and my husband was presented with alovely fruit basket (after a week of bananas and melon on a cruise it was heaven to have such a choice of fruit !! )Our room was superb and had a large balcony overlooking the courtyard, which was a great vantage point to watch the nightly entertainment. The hotel isn't huge but uses space very cleverly with many restaurants around the courtyard and plenty of options for sitting out and dining. We ate at the Lebanese and the Italian. We were told that it was cheaper to eat outside but to be truthful at only £4-£6 for a main course it's not expensive anyway, although the drinks are quite dear (as they usually are in Egypt ) so at over £6 for a vodka I stuck to tonic with a slice !!The breakfast option is good value with a vast choice and excellent quality, so a hearty breakfast kept us going for the day. The pool area is small but lovely and there were plenty of loungers although I think this may be due to the fact that the hotel is so quiet at the moment. There are several small terrace areas to sit and watch the sunset over the Nile and the view of The Valley of The Kings lit up at night is wonderful. The standard of service is superb and the staff are so friendly and helpful our stay was an absolute delight. Behind the dull, dusty exterior is indeed a treasure of a hotel. I do hope that the tourists soon return to Egypt and see what they're missing. Should we return to Luxor the Nile Palace would be our first choice as it was a superb way to end our trip to Egypt.
