Only from the open corridor on the 4th floor through a gap in the buildings, or the roof, can you see the river. The Mosque is right next door so the dozen or so speekers make it extremely loud in the rooms especially at 4:30 every morning! Overall I'd have to say the Gaddis is in dire need of some money being spent. It is very tired and in places grubby. On the positive side the staff are very friendly and helpful and the drink prices are half that of the other hotels. Beware the calleche, felucca and taxi operators in Aswan and Luxor as the severe drop in tourist numbers is leaving them desperate and very persistant. Everyone wants your money for something you don't want or nothing at all! In the 2 weeks of our stay we heard 1st hand of at least four incedents of pickpocketing or theft. You have been warned!
