Amazing burial sites with beautiful artwork, though only three were included in the price of the ticket. Tomb of Merenptah was one of the best to visit.

Having visited the Giza pyramids and walked, bent-over, to see the tomb itself, we expected more of the same. We were amazed to find a huge passageway leading to a large room with some oft he tombs having then a second and third room and passageway after that. And every bit of it lined top to bottom with beautiful pictographs. A must-see.

We were visiting from our cruise ship and could visit 3 tombs. There is a mini train to take you closer to the site. The main tombs are easily accessible though many are not yet open to the public The colours of the paintings are as good as when they were painted thousands of years ago. The pictures and hieroglyphics are an amazing sight.
Be prepared for tremendous heat. A hat and water are essential.
Cameras are not allowed and should be left on the coach.

Chose your 3 tombs wisely and you see amazing paintings and carvings. Sad that so few tombs now open though
